Pours black with a tan head an lots of lacing. Light aroma of malt and chocolate. Mouthfeel is silky smooth. Taste is of chocolate and molasses with an unpleasant earthy bitter finish which ruins an otherwise great beer.

Bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.; thanks jtclockwork). Looks good; a fairly opaque brownish-black with thin beige head. Smells solid; dark malt, roast, and chocolate. Tastes like it smells with a nice, smooth mouthfeel. A solid example of the style.

Roasty w/ a little bit of a watery finish. Otherwise, looks like a stout & has a nice creamy texture to it. Had to drive all the way to CT to find a CT beer & this is pretty good!

Pours a solid dark black that you cannot see through. A strong cocoa and nut aroma. Some light flavor of nuts but a rich chocolatey flavor. Tasted like pure liquid chocolate.

Cocoa, chocolate, nut, and roast in the aroma. Flavor is sweet with chocolate, caramel, and a little vanilla, almost like a mixture of beer and hot chocolate. Some chocolate bitterness provides some balance in the finish. Really good.

Good tasting beer. Sweet and creamy texture, rich and dark. Excellent armoa.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of chocolate malt and coffee. Stout black, head doesn’t last. Flavors of dry cocoa, burnt malt, milk, caramel. Flavors well balanced - not the chocolate bomb I thought it would be. Chocolate malt character comes out more as it warms. Nice drinkability - not too sweet or dry. Nicely done.

Dark color and creamy, brown head. Rich flavor sometimes driven by chocolate flavor. Well balanced overall. Minor bitterness from chocolate compliments stout.

Like this beer. Appearance is thick and dark with a nice tan head. Tastes great with hints of burnt coffee and chocolate.

dark looker,light body, with good cocoa flavor and a very light fleeting sense of smoke that wafts of caramel near the finish. refreshing with some quenching sharpness in the carbonation.
