Une mousse foncée assez large et assez solide. Un bouquet de chocolat et de grains légèrement brûlés. Une douceur qui apparaît dans la deuxième moitié de la dégustation et qui s’apparente au lactose. Des saveurs riches de chocolat et de torréfaction. Un aspect brûlé qui se confirme. Un alcool floral qui se pointe le bout du nez. En bouche, un corps dans la moyenne avec une bonne dose de bulles. En finale, une amertume de torréfaction qui se combine à un alcool subitement chaud. Pas mauvais du tout!

Dark brown/black color; Medium slightly creamy body; Aroma of malt, coffee, caramel, & chocolate; Flavor of roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, caramel, and hops; Slight bitterness at the finish; Nicely balanced; Solid porter.

12oz bottle poured into tulip. Pours deep black with a 2 finger-thick head. Aroma is a bit lactic, with tones of chocolate and sugary malts, also there’s a bit of burnt bread in there but it slowly fades as the brew warms up. Taste is rather leaning towards the torrefied cereals and slightly acidic as it warms up (but not that much). Palate is rather slick with low-medium carbo. Overall a very very good imperial porter! Never heard about this brewer before but this makes me want to discover their other brews!

From a bottle. Volatile dark chocolate aroma. Big black pour seems viscous. First taste is impressively strong and bitter and wants to knock your socks off. Thick mouth coating dull imperial stout effects. Burntwood and almost like tastting lye. Quite an insult to the porter style, wew. Yes, over the top and downthe side. I guess if there is such a style as impy porter, whcih is not really impy stout, this may be it. Overall beer experience is just plain rude nastiness. Mouth coating old 60w shovel head oil in my mouth.

Dégustée au Mondial de la Bière de Montréal 2012. De couleur noire-brune et quasi-opaque. Nez de grains de malt rôti voire même aux notes brûlées, moyen de chocolat noir, léger de pain grillé avec des notes de houblon herbeux ainsi que quelques traces de chocolat au lait (faibles notes lactiques) et de café. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse. Faibles traces de chocolat au lait avec des petites notes de caramel terreux lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût de malt assez rôti et aux petites notes brûlées ainsi qu’un léger-moyen goût de chocolat noir et de petites traces de pain grillé puis en finale l’on retrouve une légère amertume de houblon herbeux ainsi que des notes de café et d’alcool réchauffant très doux. Post-goût long et aux notes sèches, moyennement amer de rôti, léger de chocolat et avec des notes d’alcool très doux, de houblon ainsi que quelques traces de café.

Verre de dégustation, provenant d’une bouteille de 12 oz, au Mondial de la Bière 2012 (Montréal, QC). Arôme: Odeur de céréales grillées. Apparence: La couleur est noire. Présence d’un mince col beige mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de céréales grilles avec une pointe de chocolat. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement onctueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de café en arrière goût. (Rating #4397)

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a soapy head. Awesome aroma and taste of bittersweet chocolate, molasses, caramel, a bit of wood - bold and delicious. Great brew.

Pours a rich dark brown. Roasted malts on the nose. Flavor is roasted malts with bittersweet chocolate, hints of caramel and oak, balanced by strong hop notes. Finishes bitter. Earthy, medium bodied, and tasty.
