VENOM (941), Connecticut, USA Dec 9, 2002 Clear copper. Thin, dense light tan head. Low carbonation. Soft yet crisp. Mild roasted caramel malts. Minimal bitterness with a grassy hop balance. Medium light body. Another thin brew. Light bitterness in the finish. Fairly straight forward and uninteresting. Obviously the generic tap brews are not meant to showcase Paul Davis’ talents, but there was little to offer otherwise.
jimhilt (1397), Bow, New Hampshire, USA Jul 31, 2008 Pours a four finger cream head that fades quickly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Clear mahogany color. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Malty nose. Flavor is like a neutral caramel not sweet not bitter. $1.80 for a 12oz bottle from Yankee Spirits South Attleboro, Ma. LilBeerDoctor (441), East Setauket, New York, USA Jul 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours an amber/brown with a light tan head. Aroma of sweet toasted malt. Flavor of bitter hops, burnt toast, an odd mustyness. Weak palate. Sort of like an ESB to me with all the toast flavors. Just ok, decent. Lots of sweet/burnt malt. GangGreen712 (44), Woodstock Valley, Connecticut, USA Jul 20, 2008 Very sweet aroma, caramelly tasting, very little bitterness at all. I’m proud to say that this is brewed in my home state! Excellent beer! alobar (611), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 28, 2008 Pours ruby brown with no head. Aroma of malts and caramel. Caramel with malts on the palate. Well done Irish Red. DeadGuyFrank (326), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Jun 21, 2008 A great session Irish Red ale; slightly sweet, easy drinking, classic to the style. Another fine beer from Thomas Hooker.
