Draft at the Irish Pol. Murky chestnut brown pour. Not much head. A watery medium malty brew with sharp notes of spice and sour. Cinnamon. Clove. Apple cider vinegar. Cocoa water underneath. Very unbalanced. Missing a middle. Uncomfortable notes of vinyl raincoat, gingerbread, peat, rubarb and mop water. Not gelling at all for me.

Draft! (the only way to go) At first taste I went WOW! Bringing the glass to my face first hit me with a wonderful nutty aroma. The taste was like a letter from home which soothed my mouth with a mellow nutty flavor of possibly walnut or almond and then faded away with little aftertaste. The beer was poured into a pint glass and settled in front of me and presented itself proudly with its beautiful chestnut brown color and thin white head which dispersed itself to the outside of the glass leaving a tiny ring I call the Halo. The carbonation was enough to let you know this was a beer, but not enough to bite your throat. For those intimidated by dark colored beer, give this a try. The flavor is not overpowering and goes down easy. Great job to Hooker Brewing for crafting this one.

This was poured into a pokal since I thought it was a lager. The appearance was a hazy brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about less than thirty seconds. Light lacing slides into the beer. The smell had a light chocolate over top of some ginger and allspice. The taste was sweet running through the chocolate. A light sweet chocolate aftertaste leads into a semi - sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation came across fairly smooth and slightly creamy. Overall, I say this was a pretty good " winter"-esque lager I could have again.

Poured from a bottle . Kind of surprised by the relatively low rating. Ugly dark orange cloudy appearance, but decent head and lacing. Fruity aroma, rich flavorful taste.

A sweet malt aroma with hints of spice. Pours a brown color with a lasting short tan well laced head, cloudy with mild carbonation. Sweet taste of malt and gingerbread with a medium body and a spicy sweet finish.

Bottle at my parents late night. Pours ruby orange. Nose is light holiday spice and malt. Tastes if boozy caramel, light chocolate, some cherry, nutmeg and cinnamon, malt, and touch of gingerbread. Clean palate.
