4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20 Ethereal (2399) - Los Angeles, California, USA - AUG 9, 2011
UPDATED: MAR 12, 2012 Cask at the Euston Tap, 1st Dec 2010. Orange, very small white head. Lovely marmalade nose with resin and underlying sharper citrus notes. Resinous, rich flavour. Great weight - heavy enough for you to respect it but light enough to drink by the pint. Just the right amount of ’cling’ in the mouth. Lovely beer. Additional notes, bottle from Drink of Fulham (brewed Feb 09, bottled Oct 2010), drunk 8th March 2012. Still superb - really delivers what the label promises: sandalwood and honey on the nose, liquorice bittterness at the finish.

500ml at Toad in the Hole. Foggy deep orange with small, lasting foam. Floral, dusty, minty, honey aromas. Firm yet gentle sweetness, chipper spice notes, and again hints of dust. A little bit of coagulance at the back of the throat, but otherwise nothing untoward in the mouthfeel. Very bright, balanced, drinkable, and complex.

Bottle. Bronze leaning towards orange appearance. Small head and a combination of citrus and hops. Comlex and interesting flavours. The name was a bit off putting. The coalition ( government ) is evil, this beer is lovely.
