COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark ruby red, with an orangey fruity malt character. The spicy, resinous, lemony Goldings absolutely sing through the beer combining beautifully with the malt, and the bitterness is powerful and lasting, punching through the residual sweetness.

Kernel thornbridge coalition burton 7.2% clear orange amber beautiful colour. Cracking condition. Loads of goldings on aroma. Sweetish but then goes really hoppy goldings leafy tea thing. Rather good and full.3.9

Cask at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a ruby brown, fairly big off-white head. Aroma is malty, with some citrus and earthy hoppiness. Taste is more hop-based - very bitter with some raisins, spicy hops and some caramel notes. You get the feeling the beer gives those up almost begrudgingly - it’s very bitter, with a brash finish. Not really my thing because of that. Still very good.

Cask Conditioned handpump Mr Foleys Leeds. A chestnut coloured bert with a big whtish head and lacing. Jammy fruit abounds. Very malty. Some hedgerow hoppiness. A big chewy, perhaps over chewy body. Good bitterness at the end. It’s OK but nowt special.

Borefts Beer Festival 3. Clear brown beer, residual white head. Dry palate. A little caramel malt. Lots of bitter hops. Why there is some floralness there isn’t to much hop fruit. Dry finish with a long bitter linger. Ok but it’s too skewed towards bitterness for me.

Wenig intensiver aber interessanter Karamellantrunk mit zarten Hopfennoten. Die Süße ist ebenfalls gelungen und gering, harmonisch, etwas Frucht. Stimmig! /12/12/12//12

Boreft Beer Festival 2011. Chestnut colour with a small off-white head. Biscuit malty aroma with dried fruit, and a touch of spicy hops. Sweet malty and fruity flavour with a rich, full mouthfeel. Quite bitter finish

(Gravity cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 25 Nov 2011) Brownish amber colour with brief, bubbly head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of citrus, dried fruit and earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with dried fruit, citrus and a generous earthy/citric bitterness in a long finish. More than medium body, slightly sweetish. Tasty and quite well balanced. Very nice.

Cask at Cask Pub and Kitchen. Named "Coalition Burton Ale". Deep brown color. Nicely boisterous tan head. Taste is of roasted coffee and black cherry. Sweet taste. Very nice, though I don’t know much about the Burton Ale style!
