UPDATED: APR 14, 2013 Pours black with two fingers of thick tan head. Aroma of smoke, german sausage, roasted malt, hints of cocoa. Taste is very balanced mild malt bitterness with a fairly abrupt finish. Body is light with low carbonation.

Pours thick and black with a small tan head. Nose is big chocolate, some coffee, nutty and toffee. The taste is heavy sweet, light bitter and a hint of tart. The mouthfeel is crisp and coating, the body is medium and the finish is long.

Dark brown almost black. Brown foam.
Coffee, licorice, dark bread, tobacco, ash, roasted malt.
Medium body and a bitter finish.

Bottle. Almost opaque black liquid with medium tan head. Aroma of pumpernickel, bread, coffee, licorice, chocolate, pine ans ash. Taste is dry and light to medium bitter with notes of coffee, licorice, bread and pumpernickel. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Good stuff.

Bottle @ deans crappy music tasting. Aroma is roasty malt, big chocolate, molasses, wood, coffee and more. Awesome. Flavour is coffee, roasted malt, molasses, mocca, liquorice and more. Could use a little more thickness but still an awesome beer.

On tap at Schoukjelleren, Oslo. Pours a black colour with a creamy compact light beige head. Nice roasted aroma of leather, oak, ash and coffee. More roastedness in a rich taste with coffee and hint of vanilla. Rich and slick mouth feel, and has a light to medium bitterness. A very good and rich beer with a nice roasted touch.
