Bottle at home from ales by mail
Starts off well with rich almost meaty coffee and cocoa on the nose a pillowy tan head. In the mouth the carbonation is light and body fairly heavy with lots of residual sweetness, a touch of cardboard and ashen coffee in finish. Drinkable for the strength but not the best mocha beer I’ve had.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 Furseth (1866) - Kungälv, SWEDEN - FEB 15, 2013
Draft@ 3-Små Rum Gothenburg: Black colour, with a nice big head, Aroma is dominated of smokey, burned coffee!,and sweet maltynes, some choclate was there to. Flavor had a nice complexed mix of smokey, coffee, and dark choclate. Medium body, long burned /smoke finish. Reminds me moore of a Stout, than a Porter!

Aroma: Fairly muted aroma of wet wood, vanilla and roasted chocolate malt.
Appearance: Dense black body with a massive tan head that holds really well. Excellent lacing.
Taste: Lovely coffee and smoke flavour. Light pepper spice. Rich chocolate balanced by tangy prune. Nice lingering bitterness.
Palate: Medium body with a slick, oily texture. Lively carbonation.
Overall: A really tasty porter - tangy, rich and smooth. I’d like to try this on cask.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 jookos (761) - Helsinki, FINLAND - FEB 7, 2013
Draught. Black with tan head. Dark roasted aromas. Dark chocolate, a bunch of espresso. And some burnt wood/pencil- like notes. A very heavily roasted, tarred, one on the nose with some darkish fruits thrown in. Body is lightish for the amount of roastedness. Car tyre, burnt rubber. I really like the extremely roasted flavours here. Body-wise a quite normal stout, but really roasted, with that wonderful pencil/roasted coffee beans- flavour I enjoy so much.
