Pitch black with a nice thick brown head. Lots of coffee and chocolate on the nose. The coffee finds the way into the flavors as well, with toffee and floral notes. And don’t forget the dry finish.

Appearance: Black color with a finger thick tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Mocha, chocolate and coffee.
Palate: Full body. Tad sweet, and an ok bitterness. Soft to average carbonation.
Taste: Lots of mocha. Chocolate, mild fruity, coffee and some roasted malt.
Overall impression: Powerful lovely evening sipper. Even Gry who claims she do not like beer, admit that this one was lovely! Highly recommendable.
Personal stats: Bottle from Vinmonopolet Vika in Oslo, Norway.

Bottled (I think...)@HBF2013 (Thanks to Sir Kumpulainen the brave). More or less deep brownish black colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, ashes, some coffee and actually nicely floral and fruity as well as some mild toffee. Flavour is roasted malts, ashes, coffee, mild fruits, toffee and some slight foral notes in the finish. Very bodied and nice porter!

Bottle. Near black with a beige foam. Aromas are coffee and dark berries with cherry and dark chocolate. Lactose and marzipan with cocoa husk and smoky notes. Flavours are roast malts with dark chocolate and cherry cola. Earthy and medicinal with spices and blackberry. Marzipan with vinous and xmas pudding notes. Damned good.

0.5l bottle. Lovely pour on this one, it has a really big dark brown chocolate head that’s leaving some lively lacing and is quite long living and the beer itself is a tone lighter than black, but I’m calling it black . Looks really good, and I can’t say anything else for the aroma. Lots of sweet dark mocha aromas with dark fresh grounded coffee, a strong milk chocolate sweetness like a chocolate gnash mixed with ice cream. Lovely. Yeah, this is really good stuff. Lots of dark roasted espresso tones, but not as overwhelmingly strong as an espresso. It has a good oily mouthfeel with a comfortable prickling carbonation level. You want a new sip right after you’ve set the glass back on the table, and that’s often a good thing. Actually can’t can’t imagine how that should be done thing.. Rich roasted, not burned and it also has a slightly coffee acidic hint in the chocolaty finish. A delightful beer on a lovely day. 30.05.2013

Bottle from The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Really enjoyable malty choccy beer. Good mouthfeel and drinkable as hell. Loved it. It even got me through the frustration of upgrading my firmware on the phone and downloading apps

Bottle from Mr Lawrence, Brockley. Black pour with a tan head. No-nonsense coffee aroma bursts through with a splash of chocolate and caramel following closely behind. Flavours of charcoal, coffee and smoke. Long coffee linger. Very nice indeed.
