from la Mise en Bière - quite clear golden-blond beer with a poor head retention; hoppy aroma of lemongrass, herbs and straw; medium-bodied, clean palate; subtle but fair carbonation; dry and bitter; fresh fruity and piney, lager-like crisp finish - very good

500ml bottle bb01/2017 courtesy of Hofmark. Crisp dry greenbeige pour. Clean aromas of lime peel, lemongrass and freezedried grapefruit zest. About the same in flavour, dialed in with artistic precision and almost a lager sensibility to make an immensely quenching, dry, proto-juicy APA with an Old World sense of balance in the imported exotics. Rougher finish of wet grasses. - Looking forward to see more of mature Thornbridge quality to take it up with the punks.

Bottled, 500ml from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Gold with white head. There is a sweetish, orange, tangerine type flavour at the start of this, juicy, lightly syrupy all on a pleasant light malt. Later pineapple notes. Pretty decent.

5%ABV. American Pale Ale. Nose has citrus and some pine freshness. Mouthfeel is watery with pronounced carbonation. There are some neat pale malt flavors of hard candy, taffy, water biscuits, raw peanuts, Finish is medium with hop bitterness which is pronouced with pine and grass being most prominent. Very good, just not quite list material. Don’t get me wrong. I like this one well enough to drink it myself but maybe not to recommend.

Draught, albeit a long time ago. Citrus, mandarin lime, grassy-herbal notes, kiwi. All spoiled by sulphury notes reeking of toilet. Otherwise more than decent - light and crisp, not too bitter, very well balanced. But the sulphur spoiled the fun.

Pours clear with a thin frothy white head. Aroma is a bit of a let down, some citrus but a bit of a lager smell. Very smooth palate. Not a great beer from 2 great breweries, a bit more like a German lager than an APA.

Tasting at Mrk’s. Very nice and crisp, refreshing, lemon, mango, sweet fruit juice, bitter edge. Backlog from 2014/12/06.

Clear yellow with white head. Crisp, dry, fruity, refreshing, moderate bitter... bit thin... decent APA, if not a bit uninspiring.
