We all know that drinking beer is a congenital pastime and brewing beer can be just as fraternal. This collaboration between Rob Lovatt of Thornbridge and Jessica Heidrich St. Eriks is testament to the friendship and inspiration that brewing can produce. This Imperial Raspberry Stout pours rich and dark with aromas and tastes of liquorice and chocolate, complimented by the generous infusion of prime Scottish raspberries. Hops: Bramling Cross. Flesje bij het kampvuur :). Mooi donker met stabiele donkerbruine kraag. Geur framboos met wat chocolade en gebrande mout er doorheen. Smaak is opnieuw framboos. Zuurtje. Ik had er graag meer gebrande mout, chocolade en koffie bij gehad.

50cl shared bottle at home from FirmaBier. Nose is dark fruits. Body is pitch black, head is medium, beige, creamy, mostly lasting, good lacing. Aroma is raspberry, milk chocolate, roasted malt. Medium sweet, medium bitter, medium fruity sour. Finish is medium lasting fruity chocolate medium bitter sour, alcohol is hidden. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Very special fruity dessert beer, a bit difficult to drink due to sourness, but unique, great one.

Bottle shared by Mart. Dark brown beer, small beige head. Nose is raspberry juice, mild roast and chocolate in the background. Flavor is raspberry and chocolate, coffee, mild roast. Finishes with more raspberry plus some blackberries, mild tartness. Some perfumey raspberries in the retronasals. Lingering acidic roast. Odd, but the raspberry with roasty chocolate is pretty nice.

Samea tummanruskea. Tuoksussa paahteista mallasta, kirpeää vadelmaa, humalaa. Maussa salmiakkivadelmaa, tuhtia mallasta, humalaa. Todella selkeä vadelman ja salmiakin yhdistelmä ilman turhaa makeutta.

Finally the hunt is over! Bottle: Served in a Chouffe glass: Sticky creamy beige head. Dark brown black ish beer. Aroma has tons of raspberries. Besides the many raspberries there’s some roast, chalk, some sprinkles of malts and oat. Flavour has enough raspberries, which pushes the stout tones to the back. There’s hints of roast, bitters, malts, light bay leaf, light light liquorice... But mostly raspberries and some blackberries with a tart tone. Aftertaste has again enough berries with little bitterness and roast and more tart tone. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than medium bodied. Good but too much raspberries for this stout
