We all know that drinking beer is a congenital pastime and brewing beer can be just as fraternal. This collaboration between Rob Lovatt of Thornbridge and Jessica Heidrich St. Eriks is testament to the friendship and inspiration that brewing can produce. This Imperial Raspberry Stout pours rich and dark with aromas and tastes of liquorice and chocolate, complimented by the generous infusion of prime Scottish raspberries. Hops: Bramling Cross. Bottle bought from greystones pub, Sheffield. Dark brown, with a tan head. Strong raspberry aroma with chocolate and rich dark malts. Similar taste, but with a tartness from the raspberries. Lovely viscous mouthfeel. Unusual, but good.

Bottle. Black with a medium sized light brown head with good retention, lace and regeneration. Lots of raspberry in the nose with some chalk, chocolate and sugar too. Also plenty of strawberry in the flavour with sugar, mild chocolate, chalk and light roasted malt. Full body, oily texture, fine carbonation, medium sweet and bitter. (Bottle) Black colour with lasting, creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of raspberries, liquorice, dark chocolate and black coffee. Malty, fruity, slightly tart taste with liquorice, raspberries, dark chocolate, black rye bread, black coffee and a finish with a balanced roasty bitterness and a slight raspberry sourness. Full body, smooth and rounded mouthfeel. A slight sweetness lurking in the sourness. Very interesting and well made beer, with a generous raspberry character. Great balance, with alcohol well hidden. Very nice.
