We all know that drinking beer is a congenital pastime and brewing beer can be just as fraternal. This collaboration between Rob Lovatt of Thornbridge and Jessica Heidrich St. Eriks is testament to the friendship and inspiration that brewing can produce. This Imperial Raspberry Stout pours rich and dark with aromas and tastes of liquorice and chocolate, complimented by the generous infusion of prime Scottish raspberries. Hops: Bramling Cross. Bottle bought from greystones pub, Sheffield. Dark brown, with a tan head. Strong raspberry aroma with chocolate and rich dark malts. Similar taste, but with a tartness from the raspberries. Lovely viscous mouthfeel. Unusual, but good.

(bottle, vintage 2013) Dark brown, almost black coloured hue with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Elegant raspberry-fruity aroma with mildly dark and roasty malty notes, balanced by a whiff of liquorice and chocolate. Mildly sour-fruity and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth and well-carbonated mouthfeel. Raspberry-laden fruit character with rounded Stout flavours like dark chocolate, liquorice and faint traces of vanilla; long lasting fruity and balanced malty finish with sour and moderately roasty bitter accents, the alcohol is barely detectable. Superb. 19.VIII.15

Big raspberry nose with a full on raspberry mouthfeel with a roasty bitter finish. One for those who like fruity bitter beers. Rated by BrewTom

A perfectly pitch black body with a minimal brown head. The nose has an extremely pronounced and alnost pungent aroma of raspberries that covers everything else. The taste has a rush of raspberry sourness that quickly gives way to a deep, rich and lingering liquorice aftertaste. This is extremely intense with the raspberry and liquorice fighting against each other in perfect balance, exciting!

UPDATED: SEP 12, 2015 Opaque dark colour with almost no head. Slow rising bubbles. Alcohol note in aroma is not noticable. Aroma of raspberry, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa are in second plan. Taste: hop bitterness is high with fruity notes and is well balanced with malts. We can detect notes of cocoa, liquoric, coffee, but they are in second plan, namely taste of raspberry is too dominant. Body is mout-coating, carbonation is medium, also finish lenght.

Intense aroma of raspberries, there’s not much more, some roasted flavours as well. Dry and tart, slightly bitter. Thin mouthfeel. Interesting beer.

Bottle, bb 31.01.16. Pours almost black, with beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is dominated by raspberry, notes of roasted malts and hints of sweetness. Something like dark chocolate pralines with raspberries. Taste is again full of berries, with nice roasted, medium bitter background. Raspberries added some sourness to the beer what made it relatively drinkable. Seems to be medium bodied. Worth trying.

500ml bottle at Cardinal kindly shared by Holmen1. Nice crocheted lacing from a tan-coloured head. More or less jet black in body colour. Prominent smell of raspberry and black malts, semi-dry. Similar mixed taste of berry skins and earthy, dark malts with hints of coffee. Tart and sweet ending. Smooth on the swallow. Fine bodied. Good drinking (Stavanger 18.06.2015).
