Draft at the Busy Bee in Raleigh. Pours a rather thick-looking reddish mahogany. Super-thick white head. Tastes of British hops and biscuity malt. It’s like a bitter, but turned up to 11. Some rye notes. Bitter finish. Interesting.

Draught. This is an odd duck. A little spicy, a little malty and all kinds of smooth.

Soft golden orange pour with two fingers of dense off white head Smells like raw jalapenos and black pepper, very strange. Some verbal resinous hops and dry bready malt. Resinous and spicy flavor, not to my linking. Papery breast malt and a touch of astringency. Bleh

Comes out of the growler a clear, bubbly chestnut with a fairly thick buff head. Aroma is quite hoppy and resiny, and has hints of hay and malt, more like an IPA. Strong, lively flavor has hoppy, resin, malt and subtle caramel and woody notes, leaving a malty and hoppy bitter finish. Texture is firm and just a little fizzy. This distinctive ale is worth a snort - or two - so grab it whilst you can.

On tap at WoB. dark amber pour with a short off-white head. A lot of pine in the aroma, with some malt sweetness. Flavor is pretty muddled, with hops, rye, and malt characteristics not really working together. Unpleasantly astringent finish.

Pours dark orange with a decent hop aroma. Strong bitter body leads to a sweet soapy finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It is like a triple mild ale witha huge danky english hop character. Makes it almost like an ipa.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2013 Had this one on draught at brick store pub in Decatur, GA. Pours a light brown with a nice piney aroma. It had a minimal beige head. I am always excited to get a new Terrapin, but these days it has been really hit or miss.

Pours red amber with low white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, grapefruit. Taste is hoppy with only light sweetness. More red ale than ASA. Light lingering bitter finish, light body, soft carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
