Bottle purchased at the Grove Inn in Huddersfield. Amber/golden with a medium off white head.Sweet malty aroma with lots of ripe fruits, vanilla, oak, madeira. Sweet taste, very ripe fruit, sugar, caramel a bit alcoholic, decently hopped that makes the finish bitter. Well crafted liek a mixture of UK and US Barley wines.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - MAY 5, 2011
9/10/11/11//11

375ml bottle fromt he brewery split with mcberko. Pours a thick, deep orange. Aroma of a dessert wine, toffee and tropical fruits. Taste and sweetness resembles that of a dessert wine, with hints of toffee with a nice, clean, hoppy finish. Moderately full bodied. Beautiful.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 mcberko (2188) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 1, 2011
375mL bottle from the brewery, split with Matts_Property, pours a murky dark orange with a small white head. Aroma resembles that of a red wine, with tropical fruits, toffee, caramel and subtle hops. The flavour brings out the vinous qualities really effectively, meshing with the tropical fruits, toffee / caramel, and ending with subtle, but obvious hops that linger. Excellent - slightly supersedes the regular Alliance Reserve.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Ughsmash (5623) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2010
Bottled at DLD. Poured medium amber with a dusting of white head. The aroma picked up dry-aged oak upfront (but not in the typical sour fashion), with warm biscuity malts and light smoke beneath.. vinous notes and oak rose through the back of the nose. The flavor found warm vinous fruitage, biscuits, and brown sugar maltage at the core.. spicy and warm, with a fine complement from the barrel.. I loved the malt bill in here too. Warm and moderately sour on the palate with an oily texture to it.. the barrel was well-integrated, and this was a tasty brew.
