11th December 2010 Very hazy amber beer, small fluffy white head. Palate is semi dry and crispy. Mild prickly carbonation and minerals. Lovely fruit salad sweets that are just lightly sour. Mild toffee caramel malt, creamy too boot. Slash of coca cola before the crisp finish. Hugely drinkable. 11%? Your having a laugh! Drinks like 7%. Fabulous beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 Leighton (6956) - London, ENGLAND - OCT 1, 2011
Bottle at RBESG 2011 Grand Tasting at The Dean Swift, London. Pours a clear, ruby-amber with a great, foamy, off-white head. Big ripe fruit nose, some definite raisin notes. Extremely sweet flavor, notes of pear, toffee, caramel, fig, raisin, banana. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm finish, more sugar, sweet toast, dried fruits. Superb.

Sampled at Borefts Beer Festival @ De Molen, Bodegraven. Dark orange / light red color, white head. Smell alcohol, sugar and maybe some alcohol. Taste sweet, alcohol, not really good. Not balanced.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 FatPhil (7496) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - SEP 28, 2011
Bottle (RBESG2011, Grand Tasting)
Super citrussy toilet-cube aroma, honey too. It’s a touch disappoointing. There’s some alcohol present, and the bitterness is out of balance with the woodiness. Sugary palate. Both too old and too young.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20 Benjii (3049) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 27, 2011
On draught at the Boreft Beer Festival, 2011. Pours a golden brown colour with no head. Alcohol is fairly present with a sake quality and some caramel. A little thin with a warming alcohol finish. OK.

On tap @ Borefts 2011. Appearance is golden brown with little head. Aroma is raisins, muscat, brown sugar, honey and port. Medium on the palate and a slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Taste is sweet - caramel, raisins, dates and a touch of date. To me, this represents a barley wine very well.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 erickok (2282) - Tours, FRANCE - SEP 24, 2011
Very flat and dull looking. Raisin, grapes, alcohol, not much more. Drier than it should be (for me). Sticky body. Nah, not great. (At Borefts)
