3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Cask (gravity) Coach & Horses, Dronfield. Thanks to brewer Kelly Ryan for this. This had been sat around for two years and a deep mature fruitcake taste with just a lick of brett around the edges. A real by-the-fireside beer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
An orange-red, copper coloured beer with a weak white head. A light spicy nose, mulled wine-like, with cinnamon, clove and a hint of pepper, there is also a smoky aroma too. The taste is dry, and very spicy, again, the mulled wine selection of cinnamon and clove, with candied peel and the peaty, smoky element coming through in the finish. A very good “Mulled Ale” Christmas beer, but the strength and the powerful spiciness means you wouldn’t want too many! (Cask - The Fox & Hounds, Heacham, Norfolk)
