Pours a deep brown in colour with a tan head. The smokiness of the peated malts is matched by a smooth taste of toffee, caramel and dark fruits.

Cask conditioned handpump Craft Beer Co EC1 London 30/04/13. A black beer with an off-white bubbly head. An excellent smoked porter. Super smoke and lovely chocolatey roast. perfectly balanced and totally spot on for drinkability. Just my type of beer.

On tap at The Bishop Arms Folkungagatan, pours a deep dal brown with and a small tan head. Aroma of dark toasted malt, tar, some smoked malt, and rubber. Flavour brings out smoke and bacon upfront, and with moderate toasted malt. Quite smoky for a porter, which characterizes the flavour profile in this one. Fairly drinkable, but a little too smoky for my palate. Decent.

Shared some of Lucas’ pour at Local Option. He rolled the dice on this one and didn’t really dig it. I thought it was fine. Pours a deep, mostly opaque brown color with a modest beige head. Good amount of smoked malts and herbs and earthy notes (rosemary? spruce?), as well as some spice. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation. Kind of reminded me of Urban Chestnut Old Tjikko. Strange beer.

Tap @ The BeerMongers... Poured pitch black with a light tan head. Nice lacing. Nose had charred wood and malts with some roast. Low bitterness, mild mouthfeel. Smokey tones with fresh cut wood and roasted malts. Some sweetness and cookie dough, but balanced. Little bit more smoke in the finish.

Location: Draft at Ginger Man, 4/12/13

Aroma: The aroma is a nice mix of roasted and smoked malts, with some fruity notes as well
Appearance: It pours a brown-black color with a brown head and some fairly heavy lace
Flavor: The flavor is much the same as the nose component-wise, but a tinge better in my opinion
Palate: The body is medium-full, with a soft carbonation, and a creamy and smooth mouthfeel
Overall Impression: I thought that this one was a very nice Smoked Porter. It has a very nice mix of the roasted and smokey flavors. The smoke is present, but certainly not overpowering. I didn’t find much to complain about here.

Cask at the Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pours black-brown with a foamy, beige head. Big dark malt nose, faint roast. Nice flavor, medium sweet with dark malts, burnt grass, some minerals, some dark chocolate, a bit of earthy bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Somewhat dry and minerally to finish, with light roast, faint smoke, burnt grass and a bit of milk cocoa. Not bad overall.
