Very dark brown. Light, smooth. Grain, cocoa, discreet bitterness in the finish. A bit too modest.

Keg at Holyrood 9A. Pours dark brown with a decent creamy head. Aromas of coffee and milk chocolate, tastes the same, with a touch of roasted bitterness to balance the sweetness. Marking this down as there was no discernible smoke!

Draft at Euston Tap, London on 17 July 2013.
Poured a very dark ruby, almost black with a thin off-white head. Aroma of coffee, burnt malt and a good hint of smokiness. Full mouth feel with flavours of bitter dark chocolate, more coffee and some cured meat notes. Rounded bitter palate mixed with some molasses.

Keg. Dark brown ale with a lot of red highlights. Thin tan head. Smells of coffee and chocolate milkshake. Tastes of chocolate milkshake too. Warm it up a little and the smokiness comes through. Chocolate milkshake with little bits of charcoal sprinkled in. Stirred with a Licorice stick. Mmm.

Keg at BBB. Cheers Tommy lad. Yep, not the best porter, didn’t get my bags or anything! Dark, great to look at but didn’t deliver. Good to try though.
