Pours a deep brown in colour with a tan head. The smokiness of the peated malts is matched by a smooth taste of toffee, caramel and dark fruits.

Bottle, 0.50l. Clear dark brown head with medium soapy light brown head and sparkling appearance. Aroma of smoke, caramel and chocolate. Taste starts light sweet grainy with roasted malt note, following is refreshing fruity and smoky, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. A bit too subtle to meet my high expectations...

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, low tan head. Mildly roasted aroma with hints of coffee, and moderate notes of peat smoked malts. Medium dry flavour, well balanced notes of roast malts and peat smoke. Moderate hops.

50cl bottle. Dark brown pour with velvety, light brown head, little lacing. Aromas of peat, rye bread and coffee. Taste is malty and sweet, although a bit weak and somewhat bland. Low carbonation, oily palate. Aftertaste is long and sweet, malty ride. Not bad, but was expecting more.

5.3% ABV. Smoked Porter. Presented with neat malty nose full of honeyed dates. Full of sugary promise. Rich swarthy porty stain, coming in at around 40ºSRM. The first thing I have to say about the palate is the crisp DRY FINISH. The carbonation is light with floral and spicy flavor notes as the aroma blooms after the first sip with lilies and sandalwood. Interesting.

Dark black with red shades. Long-lasting tan head. High aromas of smoke, coffee, chocolate and Maggi dressing. Silky, mouth-covering, with a bitter finish. Classic and nice.

Pours a deep brown color, topped with a medium sized beige colored head. Initially mild smokey aroma, bacon quality, that develops more chocolate and caramel notes later on. Also some mild roasted coffee presence. Bod is silky and creamy, mild caramel sweetness matched by very gentle roastiness. Not a big fan of smoked beers, but this one is simply great.

Deep brown almost black with frothy tan head. Rich, malty, peaty... milk chocolate and roasted flavours... light and very drinkable. Really quality porter.

500 ml bottle
Dark brown, almost black beer with beige big dense head leaving lacing. Aroma has coffee, smoked wood, toffee, licorice and earth. Flavor is herbal, licoricy and smokey. Palate is quite thin and foamy. Finish has quite strong bitterness. Aftertaste is coffeey acidic with herbal hops and smoked wood. Has elements of British porter but also very German with the smokiness and herbalness. A bit too thin and mild in aroma.
