Palme (3382) - Bergen, NORWAY - SEP 11, 2014
On tap @ Haandfest 2014. A really deep and dark orange looking one. Almost a little amber and definitely glowing. A head is also present that’s small and beige in color. On the nose this is mild. Caramellish with hints of nuts, something floral and human skin. A bit strange the last part, but it smells nice enough. Slightly grainy flavors at first. It has a light oily feeling in the mouth and it’s about average on the bubbles. A faint but pleasant sweetness combined with something grain sour. Very subtle of course but present. Malty caramel finishes this one off. It grows on you. 24.05.2014

daje (2450) - NORWAY - SEP 1, 2014
Sample at Haand Festival 2014. Cludy amber body with a creamy light beige head. Aroma of caramel and perfume. Not the strong nauseating perfume smell in your face when entering a perfume store, more the subtle minimally used perfume you have to get your nose really close to a girls neck to notice. Dry yeasty and citric taste with a solid biscuit note, earthy bitter and flowery finish.

24.05.2014, tap @ HaandFestival:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is kind of strange, wet dog, wet grain, yeast, weeds, hay, grass, minerals, almond essence, flowers. Taste is slightly sweet and harsh floral, wet grain, almond essence, flowers, yeast, hay, harsh grass, cardboard, sugar. Medium bitterness, harsh dry mouthfeel. Meh!

Golden, white head. Smell of light hops, some yeast esters, fruity malts and hints of spices. Moderate sweet, hints of barnyard, some fruity notes. Moderate bitter finish. Quite enjoyable; very drinkable. Maybe not the most exciting example of the style, but it’s still quite tasty

Cunningham (4506) - Halden, NORWAY - MAY 26, 2014
Appearance: Deep bronze color with a white head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, malty and floral hoppy.
Palate: Medium + body. Tad sweet and an ok bitterness. Soft to average carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Mild malty, fine floral hoppy, toffee and fruity.
Overall impression: Not very typical Biere de Garde. Probably better!

Keg at Craft Clerko, 12/05/14. Lightly hazed dark marmalade orange/amber with a moderate light beige covering that dissipates to a pond. Nose is perfumed, tangy orange, rose hip, straw, caramel notes. Taste comprises caramel, bubblegum, zippy citrics, candied orange peel, grass. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light bitter elements in a sweetish conlcusion. Hmmm... not sure this delivers what I expect from a BDG. It’s drinkable enough I guess but a little too sweet all the way through and doesn’t execute a crisp refreshing finale.
