Cask (White Horse, Parson’s Green, London)
8 Wow. Just wow. They have of course "cheated" and just added coffee, but it fits the stout perfectly.
5 Black, tan head
8 Stunning, the coffee is so well integrated in the beer. Some creamy banana milkshake too, and a touch of vanilla.
5 So smooth, so full, and with so many intricate aspects. Finish is roasty - coffee with cream!
16 If you are going to do a gimick (add an unusual beer ingredient) then do it well. On the coffee front, Mikkeller’s Bear Geek Brunch Weasel now has a rival - and I think this might be the winner.

[3236-20100802] Cask. Fragrant fresh coffee beans and dark chocolate aroma. Clear, dark black red body with a quick foamy light tan head. Rich coffee bean and dark vanilla in the flavour with a long bitter finish and mild pear notes as it warms. Full body. Wow -- phenomenal, just a lovely brew.

A Mes rate. Cask at the Cask ’n’ Kitchen and then again later at the Sloany Pony, oh the decadence.
Ok, so the regular Saint Petersburg on cask and in form is already a stunning beer. This is even better. Stunning silky mouthfeel. Loads of chocolate and nuts and just a shitload of bitter coffee. Has this been dry beaned? It’s so coffee-ey. Gloriously drinkable. It just slips down with no effort whatsoever. More of the regular version character showing through in the finish with plenty of dark preserve fruit and then it’s kicked to death by more coffee and then maybe just a hint of coconut in the aftertaste. Absolutely bloody brilliant.

Cask (handpull) CASK Pub & Kitchen, Pimlico and White Horse, Parson’s Green. Welcome to the wonderful world of St Petersburg Mocha. The solid roasty notes of good ol’ St P have been mocchanated; full-bodied vanilla, assured coffee depth and just a fleet-footed tango of coconut. Probably the best dark beer by Thornbridge since the original whisky cask versions of St. P. This needs to be an annual - bottled - offering.

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen and then the White Horse, 2nd August 2010. What a fittingly fantastic beer to celebrate Jan’s entry into the Masters Division! Deep chestnut colour with a cream head. The already excellent St. Petersburg with exceptional coffee notes on top and a touch of coconut too. Slips down extremely nicely and very drinkable for the strength. Despite the extraordinary selection on offer that evening, I came back to this for my final couple of glasses of the night.
