COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle conditioned;
Bracia is the Celtic name for a beverage brewed in Iron Age Europe with reference found on a Roman inscription at Haddon Hall,Derbyshire. Little is known about this except it was high in alcohol, brewed with cereals and, most probably, honey. Thornbridge’s Bracia has been infused with a generous amount of dark and bitter Chestnut Honey. This was sourced by Head Brewer Stefano Cossi from Beekeeper Onelia Pin in the Alpine foothills of North East Italy. Aromas are of chestnut, honey, cappuccino, white chocolate, dark fruits, vibrant fresh peel. The mouthfeel is velvety and rich, with notes of coffee, chocolate, liquorice and hazelnuts with warming alcohol, cocoa and a little peat in the finish. Malts: Maris Otter, Brown, Munich, Dark Crystal, Black, Chocolate, Peated and Roasted Barley. Hops: Target, Pioneer, Hallertau Northern Brewer and Sorachi Ace. Bracia can be cellared for up to one year, maybe longer. Its flavours will evolve so why not enjoy the experience of opening a bottle every once in a while.

On tap at bittercreek, pitch black pour with little head. Nutty, bitter chocolate, a little ash. This guys assaults your tongue at first taste, then proceeds to mellow in roasted chocolate heaven. Awesome beer

Totally black beer with deep cinnamon coloured head on top. Aroma offers roasted malts, honey, nuts, syrup. Definitely a sweet one here. Pleasantly sweet beer. Roasted malts with honeyed nuts and bitter drying roasted feel in the end. Full body and medium carbonation. Pretty excellent honeyed ale.

50cl bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a nice brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, sweet, chocolate, honey, quite complex. Flavor is sweet and bitter, also chocolate, roasted malt, coffee, alchool but not as much as you would expect from a 10% Traditional Ale. Full bodied and sticky, soft carbonation. Great

Bottle BB Feb 2017. Thick black pour, big brown head doesn’t endure long. Decent lacing. Smell - refresher sweets, lots of nag champa incense, orange peel, touch of alcohol. Body is medium to full, slightly foamy and medium carbonation. Taste - sweet, spice, apple, slight spearmint, more incense, toffee, touch of grapefruit, rounded peated finish, slightly sharp. This is a good beer. Sorachi Ace is probably my least favourite hops, and the fact that I enjoyed this despite their obvious presence says a lot. I would love to try this with a different hop combination. I would call this an imperial stout personally.

Aroma: Strong espresso coffee, moderate peat, hazelnut, dark honey, and basically all the other stuff the label says. Very complex and full of fantastic anticipation. Appearance: Poured a oily, almost chunky black with a bubbly mocha head that settled into a bubbly ring. Flavor: Matches the nose; Hazelnut and honey up front with a dusting of coffee; strongly roasty and peaty towards the finish. Palate: Medium body, oily texture, flat carbonation, long finish. Overall: Certainly one of the finest beers from Great Britain, and a real privilege to find over here. Bottle from Louisville Beer Store.
