COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular.
A velvety dark, exceptionally smooth and creamy stout with soft treacle flavours and a full body. Not as strong as some traditional stouts, but lacking none of their taste.

Cask at the Cask, Pimliso - 22/06/12. Near black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted dark malts, nuts, bitter chocolate. Taste as aroma with some licquorice and a hop bitterness in the finish. Medium body, good lowish level of carbonation, dry finish and full flavour for a 4.1% stout.

Scopey (3243) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUN 4, 2012
Cask at CASK Brighton. It pours very dark brown, with a thick beige head. The nose is smoke, roasted malt, coffee and ginger. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, very bitter, burnt notes, coffee and smoke with a bitter-dry finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and slightly creamy mouth-feel. A solid stout.

Served flat, pleasant enough session stuff but no fireworks but had just had a blue monkey whisky cask guerilla!

Cask @ CPK. Deep reddish brown with basically no head. The nose is sweet milk chocolate, vanilla, syrup and fudge. Certainly sweet over roasted flavors. The taste is rich chocolate, blackberry fruit, mild vanilla. The finish is lightly dry and hoppy. Smooth and creamy. Soft. Overall, this is a beer of great economy - you get a lot of flavor for your 4.1%. Very nice.

Black, ruby edges, off white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft roasted malt and touch of burnt toast
Taste - roasted malt, hedgerow hops, touch of espresso, light dark fruits, bit of burnt toast, light chocolate
Palate - thin to medium body, soft carb, quite smooth. Finish has some burnt toast
Overall - It’s OK - expected better from Thornbridge

Pint in The White Horse. Colour is black, off white head. Nose is earthy, burnt malt, minerally, woody. Taste is smoky, woody, strong roasted malt. A lot of burnt, smoky flavours in there, but the body is quite weak and watery. Some dark chocolate and coffee in there, but on the finish lots of bitter burnt roasted malt flavours and smokiness. Needs more body though.
