Thornbridge Brother Rabbit (4%) - an early spring ale. Hopped with three classic American hops: Cascade, Chinook and Centennial (N.B. J D Wetherspoons festival programme October 2011 states hops are Amarillo and Cascade). Gold in colour with tropical fruits and orange sherbet dominating the aroma. Medium body with a clean firm bitterness to balance – a great thirst quenching beer.

On tap at Craft Beer Co. One of the lesser Thornbridge brews I sampled but still pretty yummy. Bright, glowing golden-orange pour with a crisp, firm carbonation. Soft grassy notes along with expected floral and citric aromas. Inviting and springlike in late summer. Bright, lively mouthfeel enhances this effect to some degree and the hop profile was bright, bitter, and refreshing.

Cask @ Bishops Arms Hornsgatan. Almost clear pale golden, foamy white head, weak lacing. Floral hops with sweet peach aroma. Light mouthfeel watery and juicy. Nice tropical fruit and bubbelgum taste, refreshing without any deep taste.

Gravity cask at the 2015 Red Lion Beer Festival, Histon. Light gold with the tiniest suggestion of head. Butterscotch, hay and sulphur in the aroma. An unwelcome hint of bile. Taste is better. Agreeably bittersweet with a gentle finish. Medium oily body. A surprisingly pedestrian golden from this brilliant brewery.

Cask from The Beehive, New Mills, Derbyshire, £3/pint. Very pale beer, pours yellowish with enduring white head. Nose is pungent, earthy, basement aromas. Slightly spicy skunkiness announces itself early in flavour with lots of citrus, particularly lemon left on the palate. Well balanced finish with honey notes on a mid/smooth palate. Lots going on here but it works. Enjoyable.
