Cask in the Horseshoe NW3. Deep brown colour, looks nice, white foam. Some nice malty flavours, a bit of fruit, toffee, bread. Big bitter hoppy finish. Nice, complex beer, to me just a little unbalanced with a bit too much bitterness killing some of the lovely malt flavour. Same beer 5 less IBUs would be awesome!

Cask at Euston tap. Clear amber / orange coloured pour with a steadfast creamy off white head. Aroma is nutty , biscuity malts, berry hop, English yeast esters. Little staling on the nose tells me the cask is maybe past its best. Flavour is malt base, with toast and a hint of roast, tangy hedgerow berry fruit hop, assertive slightly rough hop bitterness. Palate is medium, slight creamy on the tongue, moderate cask condition. Decent beer, maybe not in best condition.

On cask at Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Dec 2011 - Rich reddy brown body, creamy white head. Nose is chocolate, coffee and roast nuts. Taste is a smoky well rounded mouthful, bitter ending.

On tap at Tap East, Stratford. Clear brown beer, suddy off white head. Smooth palate, very low carbonation. Fresh tasting beer. Nice malt base, a little darkness to it and a whisper of roast. Good fresh piney hops, also mild citrus underneath that starts sweet but turns bitter through the smooth semi dry finish. Very nice - some condition would have really elevated it.

Rochford Beer Festival 2011. Milk chocolate brown in colour with a loose but highly carbonated head sustained all the way down the glass. Floral hops on the nose with a hint of grapefruit. Taste is bitter with a long dry finish and touches of grapefruit sharpness. Very more-ish.

Cask at Craft Beer Co on 26th August 2011. Brownish-orange with a grey head. Smoky, fruity and rather bitter. Complex in-mouth and aftertaste. Worth another pint.

Cask at CBC, London. Pours golden-brown with a foamy, white head. Big pine hop nose. Great flavor, medium sweet, faint toast, lots of resinous pine and grapefruit bitterness. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Good balance on the finish, oily pine resin, bit of toast, very light roast, faint caramel. Really superb beer with plenty of nuance.
