A golden summer ale made with a selection of American and Slovenian hops, Maris Otter Pale Ale and Crystal malts and infused with freshly picked Derbyshire Elderflowers. An initial aroma of elderflower and a clean and zesty flavor. Fresh and grassy hop characters and a light, refreshing bitter finish make this beer the ideal warm weather pint. The elderflower character lingers long after swallowing.

Cask at the Cask Pub & Kitchen, 2nd August 2010. Golden colour. Definite elderflower nose and strong elderflower flavour. Standard golden ale palate, supports it well. Add 0.5 if you love elderflower. It doesn’t swamp the flavour but it’s definitely evident.

2nd August 2010. Thornbridge event at the Cask & Kitchen.
And again a couple of days later at the Thornbridge stand at GBBF (thanks Ian!). Hazy pale gold beer. Neutral to slightly dry palate.Low carbonation. Sweet orange and floral elderflower. Finishes dry and turns very slightly bitter. Good stuff.

Cask@The Cask Pub And Kitchen. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruits, nectar, some mild floral hops as well as some mild bready and sappy notes. Flavour is being quite much the same in a rather nice balance.

7 Sweet blossomy aroma, something like spicy rice.
4 Bright orange, small loose head
7 Has the spicy rice theme in the retronasals. Main taste simple and grainy.
4 Soft palate, carbonation low. Finish gently bitter and a bit grassy.
13 A curious one. Full flavoured, but quirky. Saisony.

This poured golden yellow with a white head. It tasted like a golden ale with elderflowers in it, and it smelled like it to. I don’t know what the allure is when it comes to adding elderflower flavor to things, but I think on an anthropological level there is something vaguely poisonous about the taste of it.

Hand pulled cask at the C&K, Pimlico. Gold with a white head. Very refreshing but lacking guts by Thornbridge standards. Elder flowers add interest.

Cask at cask pub and kitchen, Pimlico. A golden coloured pour with a minimal white head. Fruity aroma. Tastes fruity, dry, slightly hoppy. Rather thin, not one of Thornbridges best IMO.

Cask at the CASK Pub & Kitchen on 2 August 2010. Clear gold with thin white lacing head. Fruity and floral aromas. Notes of elderflower, fruits and a late burst of peanut nuttiness during the main flavour crescendo. Grass and floral hop abound in the finish, on a zingy mouthfeel.
