Fruit porter with beige head and very dark chestnut colour, bordering on black. Malty aroma, caramel, bread, chocolate, spicy notes, brambleberries piercing through and fitting in well. Same for the taste: a rich, sweet maltiness, chocolatey with oily mouthfeel, through which the brambleberries are delicately woven, finish dominated by roasted bitterness. Delightful.

Another quality Thornbridge beer. I wasnt a fan of porter until recently mainly due to not really trying any! This beer is certainly helping the porter cause. Cola coloured with a shortlasting head, the aroma is fruity and roasty. The taste is berries and chocolate, slight coffee and liquorice. Well bodied and easy to drink, this beer is a definite re-buy!

Cask at the Sheffield Tap. Dark, almost black pour with a broken tan head. Peaty, spicy somewhat fruity aroma. Smooth, fruity flavour with hints of chocolate. Quite an unusual porter it has to be said. Given the alcohol content, it's not a major part of the flavour. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask @ Dada, Sheffield
Black, creamy tan head with good lacing
Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate malts, touch of coffee, light and mellow
Taste of smooth mellow roasted malts, smooth mellow dark malts, soft coffee and chocolate, alcohol very well hidden, touch of milk sugars, very tasty
Palate - soft carb, medium body, creamy texture. Finish is very smooth, fairlly rapid finish with soft roasted malts and chocolate
Overall - Very good tasting porter, silky smooth. It was better than the bottle version I tried.

Scopey (7396) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 24, 2013
Bottle at the Gove Inn, Huddersfield. It pours dark ruby-brown with medium beige head. The nose is roasted malt, chocolate, blackberry, blackcurrant, jam and toast. The taste is smooth, roasted malt, tangy berry, jam, light tartness, coffee, earth and wood with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Well balanced, very drinkable and nice berry notes.

Tasted from the bottle @The Sheffield Tap, on 04/11/2012. Pours velvety black with a tiny-tiny head. First sip just overwhelms with intense mix of aromas (especially considering that the beer is too cold) - huge roasty notes, not only from barley, but also from bread, chestnuts, a hint of honey, amazingly complex and delicious. Mouthfeel is definitely full-bodied and has just a perfect carbonation level. Taste is even better than aroma, hints of sours berries begin to linger the tongue, then changing by a citrus wave, which, in turn, is followed by a mix of brown sugar&chocolate sweetness. Wave of roasted and woody notes concludes this canonade of flavours. Just a perfect porter one could imagine. Recommended++ ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33cl bottle at Schouskjelleren. Pours black with a beige head. Aroma of dark malt with some roasty notes, chocolate and dark fruits. Not so sweet, drier than expected. Very well balanced with a nice bitterness. An unusual, but very nice porter. Wouldn’t mind more of this one. (2012-12-29)
