4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 harrisoni (10911) - Ashford, Kent, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2011
From mini cask at The Bottle Shop Canterbury. Clear gold colour with lasting bubbly ivory head. Wow now that is unusual. Bit of nettle bit of tea. Tropical fruits and stone fruit too. Really unusual finish like peppery hop and intense fruit. Fruit salad. Just completely floored me. Not many beers completely surprise me these days but this one did. Single hop and its a fruity peppery bitter stunner.

16th August 2011 On tap at Craft Beer. Thanks to Tom and Ian for alerting me to the reappearance of this beer that I had thought I had missed for good! Clear gold beer, tidy white head. Light semi dry palate. Lightly bitter with pithy orange and peel acridness. No real tropical fruit here, maybe a trace of peach. Bitter aftertaste. Not bad at all but not the stunner I was hoping for and inevitably after much seeking out the reality was a slight let down.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6945) - London, ENGLAND - APR 2, 2012
Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours a lightly cloudy gold with a very tight, white foam cap. Citrus, wet grass and piss in the nose. Medium sweet flavor with juicy cat pee, ripe tropical fruits, some straw and white sugar. Light bodied with soft, fine carbonation. Sweet, sticky-juicy finish, more pee, some citrus. Very nice beer. If the condition was a touch better this would be a knock-out.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DruncanVeasey (6114) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - FEB 14, 2011
Cask handpull, The Crown, Beeston, Notts (rated to Radiohead, ’The Reckoner’). Pale and brilliant, lace like milk. Mint leaf and tinned lychees aroma. Sucking on a tomato leaf, stewed green character; whipped palate like lemon mousse, rich tea dunked in Darjeeling, fruit salad with lychee and Galia melon, more mint leaf. Huge silky balance. Doubt I’ll have a better beer all day, but you never know....(I didn’t).
