4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
330ml bottle, highly recommended by the barman at Schouskjelleren. Bubbly, lightly brown head. Lacing rings to the glassware. Devil-black body. Very good looking. Velvet aroma of not-too-sweet chocolate, carefully roasted. Elegant balanced taste of chocolate malts offset by smooth fruity hops. Prolonged bittersweet coffee notes to the finale. Alcohol notes far behind. Full bodied. Not extreme in any way. Top notch (a very fine last drink during my Oslo-Bergen-Oslo trip in September. This one was enjoyed on a Wednesday afternoon in Oslo, 19.09.2012).

4.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A black beer, with a light brown average head. In the nose there is, light chocolate, light coffee, liquirish, malty and light salty. It is a full bodied beer, with a fine but light carbonation. In the taste the salty liquirish is the most prominant taste. In the background there are roasted malts, light stingy and alcohol. The aftertaste is light bitter, coffee and liquirish, stays long.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Todd. Thanks!
A: Black like an abyss with a creme head. Good legs.
N: Tons of colar, licorice, some cocoa, what I think is rosemary (or sage), rye, peppercorn, and cedar.
T: Peppery to the max. With a lot of wood elements. A touch of sourness.
M: Oily and medium-heavy. Sticky.
O: A strange bird. It’s all over the place in terms of flavor. Big bitterness over big malt.
