Pub (4125), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Jul 9, 2006 Cask conditioned at Merton Summer Beer Fest 06. Orange golden with white bubbly head. Ahhh, you just new this was going to be good as soon as it was poured. The buzz was going around that this was good and to get in quickly, and I was certainly not dissapointed. Citric hoppy, orange zesty notes with a fresh dustiness to the hops. A gentle base carrying the bitterness and more hops, hops, hops. The beauty of it all had me drifting off, thinking of how IPA came about, the Empire, the Jewel in the crown, which was India and particulary The British Redcoats, for whom it was brewed and Rudyard Kipling who documented it with his poetry.<!-- br -->

Grassy hops dominate. Not an extreme beer, just a solid, well composed IPA, well balanced between malt and hops. asheft (979), Marburg, Germany Sep 16, 2008 [cask at EBF 2008]
Strong citrusy hops with slight caramel in the nose--crisp. Clear gold with wispy white on top. Excellent balance of bitterness and strong hops flavour with notes of apple, lemon, and cinnamon. Bitter finish that is almost crisp. thewolf (3983), Kolding, Denmark Sep 15, 2008 Cask @ EBF, 2008, Carlsberg.
Pours pale yellow with a fine, golden teint. A small, bubbly, white head on top. Aroma has some melons, grassiness and just powerful hops. Great - some biscuity malts as well. Great, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very hoppy, super dryness, very flowery and fruity. Light, good malty background. Wonderful. ritchie666 (20), Tyne & Wear, England Aug 17, 2008 Cask at "nd South Shields Beer Fest. An amber beer with a slight white head and an intense citrus fruit aroma, the same citrus notes carried on into the first mouthful, grapefruity, lemony, even piney spicey hops nicely balanced by the sweet toasted malt before a long bitter finish. Sigmund (1962), Hafrsfjord, Norway Aug 14, 2008 Cask at the GBBF 2008. Golden colour, low head. Lovely hoppy aroma with strong notes of tropical fruits. The flavour is a hoppy explosion of citrus and tropical fruits, on a distinctly sweet base. Long hoppy aftertaste. Very good.
