Cask conditioned at Merton Summer Beer Fest 06. Orange golden with white bubbly head. Ahhh, you just new this was going to be good as soon as it was poured. The buzz was going around that this was good and to get in quickly, and I was certainly not dissapointed. Citric hoppy, orange zesty notes with a fresh dustiness to the hops. A gentle base carrying the bitterness and more hops, hops, hops. The beauty of it all had me drifting off, thinking of how IPA came about, the Empire, the Jewel in the crown, which was India and particulary The British Redcoats, for whom it was brewed and Rudyard Kipling who documented it with his poetry.<!-- br --> When the arf made Soldier goes out to the East.<!-- br --> E acts like a babe and drinks like a beast.<!-- br --> And e wonders because e is frequent deceased.<!-- br --> Ere e’s fit to serve as a Soldier.<!-- br --> Serve as a Soldier, Serve as a Soldier, Serve as a Soldier.<!-- br --> A Soldier of the Queen.<!-- br --><!-- br --> If you’re cast for fatigue by a sergeant unkind,<!-- br --> Don’t grouse like a woman nor crack on nor blind;<!-- br --> Be handy and civil, and then you will find.<!-- br --> That it’s beer for the young British soldier.<!-- br --> Beer, beer, beer for the soldier .<!-- br --> . . A Soldier of the Queen.<!-- br --><!-- br --> ................. Part of lifes rich tapestry, cheers Fin & Loz.

Cask at EBF, Copenhagen. Grassy hops dominate. Not an extreme beer, just a solid, well composed IPA, well balanced between malt and hops.

[cask at EBF 2008] Strong citrusy hops with slight caramel in the nose--crisp. Clear gold with wispy white on top. Excellent balance of bitterness and strong hops flavour with notes of apple, lemon, and cinnamon. Bitter finish that is almost crisp.

Cask @ EBF, 2008, Carlsberg.
Pours pale yellow with a fine, golden teint. A small, bubbly, white head on top. Aroma has some melons, grassiness and just powerful hops. Great - some biscuity malts as well. Great, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very hoppy, super dryness, very flowery and fruity. Light, good malty background. Wonderful.

Cask at "nd South Shields Beer Fest. An amber beer with a slight white head and an intense citrus fruit aroma, the same citrus notes carried on into the first mouthful, grapefruity, lemony, even piney spicey hops nicely balanced by the sweet toasted malt before a long bitter finish.

Cask at the GBBF 2008. Golden colour, low head. Lovely hoppy aroma with strong notes of tropical fruits. The flavour is a hoppy explosion of citrus and tropical fruits, on a distinctly sweet base. Long hoppy aftertaste. Very good.
