COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A burnt gold English Pale Ale brewed with the latest crop of Pioneer and Bramling Cross hops. Some malt present in the nose with a hint of lime and lemon peel. Medium bodied with some biscuit character and more citrus present in the mouth. The finish shows a clean bitterness with a touch of lingering grassiness

Simple sweetish malty English beer aroma, some black tea. Flat palate, carbonation low. Gold, tiny head. Watery, feels flat. Simple popcorny grains, some spicy hops almost peppery. A bit of a damp squib, but not bad.

Cask at Craft Clerkenwell, 06/08/13. Clear golden with a thin off white head. Nose is soft citrus fruits, orange, grass, light grapefruit. Taste comprises mandarin, light orange pith, sugars, soft dough, hint of caramel, tea leaves. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, dry finish with subtle hop bitterness. Ok simple enough pale affair.

Cask, CBC Brixton. Slightly cloudy pale orange. No head, little carbonation if any at all. Hoppy floral aroma, pleasant. Not big on flavour. Hops, very mild malt and slight bitterness make it a very easy drinking summer session ale. OK. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Cask at The Lyric, Soho. It pours clear amber with a small bubbly white head. The nose is earth, floral, earth, hay, tangy lime and biscuit. The taste is biscuit, floral, grass, light lingering bitterness, grain, wood and faint lime with a dry finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Easy drinking, but not a whole lot going on. Ok.

Half at Victoria, Brum. Busy inside so stood outside in industrial surroundings which I kinda like. My Peroni loving mate was waffling on about something dull and I was dreaming of my bed. Bitter when what I wanted was something refreshing but you can’t blame the beer for that. I got confused at the bar. My mate had Titantic stout which he seemed to enjoy. I’m looking forward to coming back here with Bish and Dan and having a good chat. The train beckoned and I needed to take photos of street furniture in the dark.

On cask @ Coach and Horses, Dronfield - Hazy golden body with a thin white head.Grassy hop nose with some malt sweetness. On the taste, dry on the palate with plenty of malt and cereal. Fruity, hoppy finish. Body is slightly thin. Not one of Thornbridge’s best.

I was very disappointed with this beer as I normally love Thornbridge. No hop aroma or flavour. Darker looking than I expected and certainly not refreshing. Very poor beer.

[cask at FyneFest’11] Hazy golden pour with a thin white head. Dry, grassy hop nose with some malt sweetness. On the taste, dry on the palate with plenty of biscuity malt. Fruity, hoppy finish. Body is slightly thin, but this is a terrific session beer so that’s absolutely fine [11062011]

Cask, in more places than I can begin to remember. Often rebadged and rightly so. That first batch with feisty Bramling Cross was lipsmacking. Nowadays; more earth, more toffee. For an English Pale, it’s OK. As a house beer, it’s found its niche.

Tried on cask St George’s day. The last of my St George day english pale ales and was a little disappointed with this, strange toast like flavour, not very refreshing but looked good in the glass.
