A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Smells tastes and looks like a hoppy pilsener (very yellow appearance). Not exactly what I would expect for an IPA and not too impressive overall.

Nette gebalanceerde ipa met veel citrus. Beetje braaf in de bitters, wel mooi in balans. @thornbridge den Bosch ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

500ml bottle from the LCBO in Peterborough, Ontario. Pale golden yellow in colour with a large and long lasting white head, good lacing. The aroma is of citrus, floral and sweet malts. The flavour is of citrus hops, some grapefruit and caramel malts. Bitter mouthfeel, light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long and bitter. A very refreshing IPA. Good bitterness and flavour despite the lack of body.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 12C). Bottle 50 cl - Batch unknown. AROMA: hop predominant, with floral, slight herbaceous and citric notes. Some fruitiness present. Slight sweet malty background with an almost neutral presence (slightly grainy). APPEARANCE: pale gold and clear. average moussy white head, with moderate retention. TASTE: similar to the aroma with hop predominant notes but medium in intensity (floral, slight herbaceus, citric). supportive low sweet malt character with a slight grainy note. Balance towards hops. Medium to medium-high bitterness that lingerns in an almost dry finish. PALATE: medium-light body with moderate carbonation. no hop astringency. OVERALL: a very nice English IPA with good hop notes, supported by a somewhat faint malt presence. it would benefit with a touch more malt.

I prefer less bitter beers, though it’s citrus taste brought me directly to trappists Tripels :)

Very pale golden, clear as a bell and a decent white cap and lacing. Nose is grassy, spritzy citrus and salty mineral sweetness. Initial taste is lean, crisp enough juiciness but more floral and quenching than anything else. Superb mouthfeel, as with all Thornbridge output this is smash city, clean and salty mouthfeel. Finishes clean again, gritty bitterness and a lean again salty enough linger. Don’t remember it having such a savoury soft herbal buzz but, it’s all good. Not quite as crispbread and juicy as I had on Keg recently.

Hazy, sunny golden color and a bright white head are promising. A promiss that is first kept by the wonderful aroma of grape- and passion fruit. A tiny hint of honeymelon keeps is round and smooth, refreshingly fuity. The promiss is also kept by the taste. Intriguingly crisp, citric, fresh and dry without raping your palates. This is a reference in new british IPA’s. Absolutely hop forward, but geniously integrated and smooth with a wonderful dry-bitter finish that lingers but doesn’t glue your palate.
