Bottle from PIzza Port Bottle Shop. Pours a pale gold with a small white head. Pleasant fruit and citrus aroma. Floral. Near perfumey. Medium body with foamy carbonation. It is very fruity and florally perfumey. It suggests incense. And it’s quite bitter. Extremely different. Extremely tasty.

Cask.
Aroma is very highly citrus hopped for a UK IPA. Orange with a small firm custard head. Flavour again is full on orange some very good malt also. Medium bodied, very well balanced, extra hoppy, very bitter. Well done!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Beeronaut (176) - Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - JUN 21, 2010
I’ve had this beer a few times in both bottle formats (conditioned and pasteurized) and also on draught. Here though, it’s in the new bottling, micro-filtered. After ending up a little bit dissapointed by the new Halcyon, I thought it prudent to try the Jaipur. But I can safely say that this little beaut’ is on form! Pours out looking very lively and fizzy (oh no! I thought, not again) aroma is excellent, loads of floral, perfumed aromas, very unique to Jaipur, there’s almost a disinfectant note to the hops/resin with Jaipur, a but like potpourri. A good bit of spicy pine, orange peel, lemon zest and a little bit of honeyed, caramel malt. Flavour is more of the same, with more emphasis on sweeter notes balancing all the hoppy, citrus goodness. It has an almost boiled sweet like feel to it in the back ground. Some rhubarb tartness, and finlly grapefruit/citrus to finish. Thankfully the fizz seen on pouring turned out to be superb bottle conditioning, making the beer very creamy with a good solid mid-bodied feel to it. Totally delightful, and quite possibly the best bottling I’ve tasted so far.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2010 Cask. Sharp, floral hoppy aroma. Slight fruitiness. Fairly sweet, a bit tangy along with the bitter hop finish. A pretty nice IPA, though I personally prefer my IPAs to have a bit more of a malt balancing.

Cask - Planet Thanet Festival 2010, Margate. After countless times having missed this and all the hype, I made certain to get in on it this time around! It poured a clear, golden orange with a medium frothy white head. Big and citrussy hops, heaps of orange peel with a real sweet and boozy toffee malt backdrop. Bags of citric and floral hops underlined by a lovely sweetness on the tongue. Medium in body with low carbonation, an oily mouthfeel and a lingering earthy, piney finish.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheAlum (4289) - Lisle, Illinois, USA - APR 3, 2010
Poured on cask at The Maproom (Chicago, IL). Pours a nice golden amber, good jaze, moderate bright white natural head that sticks around a good level and laces ok. Aromas are a nice delicate hoppy brew, florals, citrus, pine, and a more dominant funky grass, with pale and carmel beneath. Initial is hoppy, good citrus hop with grapefruit and lemon with a touch of grassy hop, pale and caramel malts beneath, smooth and very drinkable. The hops have a great aroma and flavor character, with smaller bitterness. Finish is citrusy, lemon and light bitterness. Nice.
