COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask: Regular. Also available bottled.
A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Bottle at bar. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with caramel, citrus and grape. Dry bitter finish. Very good IPA.

Pours light golden and almost clear with sticky white head. Aroma is faint of pine hops. Taste is smooth and light also with slight bitterness. Easy drinking - like an IPA for beginners.

Odd, vaguely sewage-like aroma (this beer recovers quite well from THAT description), smooth, perhaps a bit thin. Decent hop taste that envelopes the mouth, but it doesn’t jump out at you. A bit weak for my IPA tastes I suppose, but alright.

Purchased at the LCBO with a best before date of 24.07.12. Pours a clean golden colour at first, but gets hazy near the end, with a bunch of tiny flakes floating all around. An off-white cap tops the brew for a long, long time and foamy lacing forms around. Mild hoppy nose with grapefruit notes and very light grain. The grain comes out a bit more in taste, over the hop. Wet mouthfeel with just a little dryness in the finish. Quite a mild IPA that makes it easy-drinking (compared to hop bombs) but is definitely better than average.

Cloudy yellow-gold; lots of floaties; thinnish white head. Smooth, effervescent texture. Snappy and rich bitterness. Lots of lemon and rind. Malt flavors are that of light grains and toasted white bread. Hint of bread dough sweetness at its core. Nicely hop forward, without being abrasive.

Bottle, LCBO. Hazy golden yellow, silky white head. Very strong citrus aroma - lovely. Soft lively mouthfeel. Taste is subtle up front giving way to a very well balanced brew - tons of citrus hops make their way to the roof of your mouth, backed up by a nice medium to light malt body. Finish is a tad short - was hopping for a long bitter linger. Overall, very impressive; I will be buying more of this one.

On tap at The Brew House, Altrincham. Amber with a fluffly white head. Lots of lacing as the glass empties. Big pine and tropical aroma. Grapefruit stands out in particular along with other citrus and tropical fruits resulting in a wonderful taste profile leading to a lingering tropical finish. Lots of hop bitterness and some slight stickiness. Mouthfeel is surprisingly thick and even chewy at times. Wondeful IPA and very refreshing on a hot day, but I’d like to try it on cask before I cast a final judgement.

Really good fruit smell to this besides the obvious hops. And this from straight outta the bottle discretely wrapped in a plastic puke bag in the GreyDog from Ottawa to Montreal. Slightly cloudy blond by the look of it. Good medium carbonation. Glad it didn’t get too shaken up on the ride so far. Nice taste – I’m sure this would be even better across the Atlantic but then the English built these to cross a couple oceans…

500ml bottle from IPB.
Appearance : Clear pale amber medium head. Some lacing.
Aroma : Resinous hops with citrusy notes. Nice malt. Piny and coniferous. Some honey.
Taste : Nice malty profile with honey on the finish. Piny and citrusy hops with some resinous notes. Finish fairly bitter and a bit resinous.
Overall : Quite enjoyable and drinkable but not as elegant as Kipling or Wild Swan. Still very well made and it was probably better

Meh, really doesn’t do it for me. Pours a straw yellow with a thin white sticky head. The aroma is old cupboard, straw, and a touch of floral hops. The flavour, a rough kind of bitter, straw, soap, maybe I got an off batch, really don’t understand the 3.56 rating. Just not very good in my opinion.
