A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Never fails to impress me how good this actually is. Even surprised me how well it stands up to other quality beers. Packed with citrus and tropical fruit flavours but perfectly balanced to be smooth and not harsh. Undoubtedly the best cask beer around. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pale yellow, softly carbonated for a very small head, not terribly inviting-looking; luckily the taste makes up for the appearance. Not really getting the ’citrus’ aroma... Very thin texture, but I believe this is an older bottle (purchased in april). The initial floral sweetness is abruptly replaced with a bitter, yet crisp and satisfying finish.

500ml bottle. Pour a slightly hazy, golden straw with a thick, fluffy, white head. Aroma is biscuity, with a nice spicy, citrusy hop presence. Taste has a spicy hop bitterness with a light grapefruity citrus note over a nice, biscuity and lightly sweet malt body. Mouthfeel is light bodied with moderate prickly carbonation.

Well it tastes great....sweet fruity malts with lots of bitter citrus hops. Very fresh here and only £2.49/pt....I still think Kipling is a tad better than this 3.7 > 3.9

Cask @ Bandstand Bar, Nairn [061112] 7/3/8/4/15 3.7
Light golden orange...hazy...thin frothy white head....some lacing
Aroma - Lots of citrus hops...fruity sweet malts...resinous...tropical fruits...bit of mango
Taste - Citrus tropical fruits, some grapefruit, pithy but sour citrus fruits, touch of grassy hops, sweet resin, hint of orange, sweet golden malts, abv well hidden, fair amount of sweet bit orangey notes - I do remember being rather more hoppy than this a while back
Palate - soft carb. medium body, bit sticky texture, sweet malts, some stinging citrus hops. Finish - sweet fruity malts, more bitter pithy citrus comes through
Overall - A great beer when I first tried it, but seems less hoppy now than when I had it - good beer but not outstanding

500mL bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy pale gold with some foamy head that dissipates slowly. Smell is definite hopes, floral and a bit of grass. Palate is a bit lacking, a bit watery and not much in the carbonation. Taste is also a bit lacking. It starts off watery and then gets a bit bitter. Aftertaste is simple and bitter.

Pours light golden and almost clear with sticky white head. Aroma is faint of pine hops. Taste is smooth and light also with slight bitterness. Easy drinking - like an IPA for beginners.

Odd, vaguely sewage-like aroma (this beer recovers quite well from THAT description), smooth, perhaps a bit thin. Decent hop taste that envelopes the mouth, but it doesn’t jump out at you. A bit weak for my IPA tastes I suppose, but alright.
