A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Hoppy aroma of tropical fruits, quality marijuana and pine needles. Rather dry flavor of fruits hops and a pleasant, moderately bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Andsled remembers when there was a simple system for classifying hotels. If you were looking for the best ones, you needed a five star hotel. Then they decided to build super-hotels with jaw-dropping architecture and luxury so they decided to add stars to the system. In a world of five star beers, Jaipur is a six. It is the best draught beer andsled has tasted. It’s not just a case of adding more hops for extra flavour. There’s no art in that - just heavy handedness. Here the balance of flavours in every department is stunning (and at 5.9% you could get stunned as a newt). Thornbridge are experimenters and tinkerers but andsled hopes they will leave this brew alone - it is a masterpiece. More thoughts at http://hophead.tumblr.com

Bottle. Poured yellow orange with thick lasting white head. Subdued aroma, mostly orange hop. Medium body with the hop predominating. Less citrusy than American IPAs, this seems to me to be common in English IPAs.

250ml real ale cask. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of hops and citrus. Taste is hoppy - but not overtly so - and fruity. Fairly light and carbonated - very drinkable.

Bottle. Deept golden, clear body. Frothy, pillowy off-white head, slowly diminishing. the aroma is floral and grassy with notes of toasted grain and bready malts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery turning velvety texture and lively carbonation. Several pilsner qualities in the taste — grass, toast, pale malts — but with more complexity and bitterness. There’s ctirus and peach, pine, caramel. The front of the tongue experiences some delicate tastes that are nicely sweet, but the bitterness overpowers these and is long lasting. Very nice.

Yes, English understated and smooth drinking craftmanship, yet delivers an IBU bitterness that wakes up the taste buds. Enjoyble drinkability, though more of a sipper to save the buds from being shredded. from Premiere Gourmet.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours turbid canary straw with 3-finger uniform white head. Nose is pale malt, piney resiny hops, tangerine. Tastes hoppy, sticky, resiny, with pale malt, tangerine, black pepper, and a gargantuan depth of flavor and complexity.

Taste is moderate hoppy, very crisp and fresh, but what a lovely fresh taste of fruity and citrussy hops, and moderate sweet malts, apricots and peach. Fizzy mouthfeel, lively carbonation. Long and fruity aftertaste, splendid beer.

Bottle. Moderate malt notes of cereal and caramel, grapefruit and orange for the hops, light soap and musty for the yeast, with a hint of pear in the background. Head is average size, frothy, slightly off-white with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is light hazy amber. Flavor starts moderately to heavily acidic, then finishes lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is light to medium, a bit slick, with a lively carbonation and finishes lightly astringent. Not as complex in flavor as I like in an IPA, but everything else is true to the English style.
