A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Deep blond color. The aroma shows strong hop, grassy and papery. Medium bodied, with dry caramel flavor, toffee and quite strong hopping. Strong ending bitterness. Very British.

2006-11-06, Cask Conditioned at Charlie’s Pub, Copenhagen; sold as Jaipur IPA, 7-4-8-5-16=40
Hazy blond color. Very nice hop aroma, quite earthy, but also fruity. Lovely taste, clean malt, lots of aromatic hops, both fruity (oranges, citrus fruits, grapefruit…) and floral (with some elderflower as well); fudge. The final is less aromatic; it’s soft because of the malt, and with a strong bitterness with a lot of hop oils; again traces of elderflower.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours clear yellow with a fine, white creamy head. Strong hay and straw hop nose. Some citrusy sweetness starts the flavor, with good malts and fruity bitters. Light bodied with smooth carbonation. Nice, hoppy close with resin and citrus, along with lightly sweet malts backing things up. Really good!

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2008 Cask gravity at Notts BF 05. Just about my beer of the festival. Intense hop aroma. Pale gold with lasting white head. Citric hop is lovely. Grapefruit. Terrific in mouth and finish is excellent. Some sweetish malt in mouth to balance. Then gorgeous hop finish. Alcohol makes it a tad too sweet. Not that good on day 2 when Haddonsman had it. Re-rate. on handpull at Coach & Wagon, Dronfield. The best pint of this Ive ever had in Thornbridges own pub too. Pure delight in a glass. The hop profile is just perfect for me. I love everything about this beer.

Cask at Horsens Beerfestival. Clear, pale golden-yellow with a small white head. Pine, hops and pineapplenotes in the aroma. Medium body with a piny and hoppy flavor and a well-hopped finish. Sorry, it just didn’t get me, but it’s on my list of "have-to-try-again"s. (061028)

9/11/12/10//10

Cask at Wetherspoons, Victoria station. Lightly hazed pale golden, good sized bubbly white head, Nose is hops, citrus, sugar, light pine, grapefruit, orange pith. Taste comprises hops, mango, sugars, orange, red grapefruit. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, some bitterness in a dry finish. I reckon the conditioning of this one wasn’t tip top but it still came out as a very drinkable IPA. Re-rate in due course.
