A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Bottle from PIzza Port Bottle Shop. Pours a pale gold with a small white head. Pleasant fruit and citrus aroma. Floral. Near perfumey. Medium body with foamy carbonation. It is very fruity and florally perfumey. It suggests incense. And itís quite bitter. Extremely different. Extremely tasty.

UPDATED: JAN 3, 2014 Re-rate January 3rd 2014. Bottle shared @ Van Moll with Stefan and Erwin van Moll. Clear pale golden color, full sized white head that lasts for a long time. Aroma and taste are lightly malts, hops, nicely bitter but also lightly buttery. Dry finish, average body and carbonation. -- Old rating: I believe I had this at Alvinne CBF 2011. Far from my best IPAís. Though I admit, coming from England itís not bad. I just miss the strong almost overpowering hops and (grape)fruit in these type of IPAís. Not bad, but nowhere near my favorite ones. [Original rating: 6-3-7-3-13].

Rerate: Keg (Pudel, Tallinn) (7:3:7:4:14)
A bit dead and dull compared to cask. Still nice, but no wow.
Rerate: Draught (Angleterre, Helsinki) (8:4:8:4:16=4.0)
Thereís the wow! Just like I remember it first time, and if anything even better! Utterly delicious, so much character, and so drinkable too. Amazing.

Draft. Poured clear copper color with an average frothy white head that was mostly lasting with good lacing. Moderate to heavy citrus and sweet aroma. Medium to full body with smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bitter flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Solid drinkable brew that exceeded my expectations.

Cask conditioned at Merton Summer Beer Fest 06. Orange golden with white bubbly head. Ahhh, you just new this was going to be good as soon as it was poured. The buzz was going around that this was good and to get in quickly, and I was certainly not dissapointed. Citric hoppy, orange zesty notes with a fresh dustiness to the hops. A gentle base carrying the bitterness and more hops, hops, hops. The beauty of it all had me drifting off, thinking of how IPA came about, the Empire, the Jewel in the crown, which was India and particulary The British Redcoats, for whom it was brewed and Rudyard Kipling who documented it with his poetry.<!-- br --> When the arf made Soldier goes out to the East.<!-- br --> E acts like a babe and drinks like a beast.<!-- br --> And e wonders because e is frequent deceased.<!-- br --> Ere eís fit to serve as a Soldier.<!-- br --> Serve as a Soldier, Serve as a Soldier, Serve as a Soldier.<!-- br --> A Soldier of the Queen.<!-- br --><!-- br --> If youíre cast for fatigue by a sergeant unkind,<!-- br --> Donít grouse like a woman nor crack on nor blind;<!-- br --> Be handy and civil, and then you will find.<!-- br --> That itís beer for the young British soldier.<!-- br --> Beer, beer, beer for the soldier .<!-- br --> . . A lightly hazed golden IPA with a thin lacing white and creamy head. Superb aroma of fragrant hops, pinhey and citrusy, with oily qualities, surprising for a British beer. In mouth, a smooth floral hops with silky malt, smooth and refreshing. On tap at ChurchKey DC with ArgoO, Sept. 16 2010.
