A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

I love this beer. The best pint I ever had was in the Coach and Horses after spending a day at the brewery. Just brilliant. New-skool British cask IPA at its best. Dangerously drinkable, smooth, clean, crisp, fruity, hoppy. I could wax lyrical forever about this beer. If I see it, I drink and thatís a good ethos to live by.

500ml bottle. Pours a slightly cloudy pale gold, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Toffee and fresh white bread serve as a base for strong tropical fruit and pine hops aromas, with pineapple and honeydew melon especially prominent. An initial touch of pine is overcome by potent grapefruit and pineapple hops flavours. These last into the mid-palate, where they are joined by a touch of mango and some white bread and caramel malt notes. Mango and melon hops notes bring a fruitier touch to the finish, and there is a lingering pine aftertaste. I have wanted to try this beer for quite a while, and it certainly doesnít disappoint. A nice, razor-sharp IPA, with an enjoyable breadth of flavour.

Wonderful aroma and flavor. Much of both too. This is how an ipa should taste. Follow me @ Kung av Ųl / King of Beer @ Facebook for more pictures and ratings.

Very nice IPA, well balanced blend of citrusy sweetness and hoppiness. Golden pour with healthy head.

Thick lasting head, fine bubbles.Very fruity citric hops and creamy barley dancing in balance leaving a light bitter finish. Finish lasts long for this type of beer. If you like this, try the Halcyon too

Bottle to glass. Straw yellow with big fluffy white head and visible bubbles light haze. Cracker malt with vibrant citrus aroma, lemony. Lively carbonation enhances the citrus hops and dry malt taste. Wow this is a well made beer. Finishes with lots of lemon citrus and balanced with a cracker malt that has a hint of salt. I could drink this all day. Yes I want more.

The first thing I noticed was the hazy gold colour, but didnít allow that to mar my judgement of itís other attbributes.... A truly wonderous aroma, flowery hops, spice, grapefuit, lemon & other citrus fruits all jostling for attention on the nose. The palate was bitter/sweet, clean & rather light, following onto a crisp dry finish. Very satisfying & thirst quenching, but not a session beer at 5.9

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2012 Cask @ The Drum & Monkey & The Bon Accord. Bottles from mybrewerytap.com, Beers of Europe & Great Grog. Hazy yellow amber colour, not much head. Resin, hop & tropical fruit aroma. Citrus fruit, resin & floral flavour. Orange aftertaste. Very good.

Andsled remembers when there was a simple system for classifying hotels. If you were looking for the best ones, you needed a five star hotel. Then they decided to build super-hotels with jaw-dropping architecture and luxury so they decided to add stars to the system. In a world of five star beers, Jaipur is a six. It is the best draught beer andsled has tasted. Itís not just a case of adding more hops for extra flavour. Thereís no art in that - just heavy handedness. Here the balance of flavours in every department is stunning (and at 5.9% you could get stunned as a newt). Thornbridge are experimenters and tinkerers but andsled hopes they will leave this brew alone - it is a masterpiece. More thoughts at http://hophead.tumblr.com

Cask at The Dandelion. Pours a slightly hazy golden yellow color with a 1.5 finger frothy white head that has excellent retention, only slowly fading into a lasting cap that coats the glass with sheets of chunky, soapy lacing. Delicate floral hop aroma that is nicely balanced by a toasted biscuit malt backbone. Slightly earthy with hints of grass and pine needle as well as some faint citrus peel. Slightly creamy with a nice graham cracker/biscuit malt character countering the earthy/floral notes. Creamy medium body that is fuller than expected with a crisp floral hop bite up front that isnít too bitter, lingering over the malt backbone into a slight dry finish. Slightly earthy without being cloying or too dry or bitter with subtle sweet citrus notes and a perfect biscuity malt backbone. Although there is a prominent malt presence underneath, it isnít overpowering and the hops are given plenty of room to shine through. All of the hop flavor without the tongue-coating dryness. Perfectly balanced yet this beer is one of the hoppiest British beers Iíve ever had. The drinkability of this beer is off of the charts. I drank the first imperial pint so quickly that I needed to order a second to go with my meal. I love real ales on cask but am not the biggest fan of English IPAs. This beer was a perfect example of both. I highly recommend that you seek this beer out on cask if you have the chance.
