A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

Slightly hazy yellow color, small white head. Very intensive honeyish, resiny, trefoil-flowery aroma. Hoppy, flowery flavor with hints of honey. Very long hoppy aftertaste. I wonder why this stylish IPA is ESB here?

Cask@GBBF2007. Yellowish colour, not much head. Aroma is caramel hops, grassy hops and also some fruityness. Flavour is quite the same, with lots of grapefruits and grass in the finish and aftertaste.

On cask tap at Map Room, Chicago. I didn’t know anything about this beer-- but it was immediately obviously that it was a traditional English style IPA. Very mild hops and a soft palate. A nice change of pace from the plethora of American style IPAs with a more aggressive hop profile.

poured from cask at papago...a clear golden orange with a fluffy white head that lasts all the way down to the bottom of the glass leaving behind a trail of pillowy lacing. aroma is a mild mix of pale malt, lemon, skunky pine hops and some wood. medium body with a creamy cask texture. flavor is similar to the aroma...muted with some hop spice and earthiness and finishing with some floral notes.

Draft at Brouwer’s Hopfest. Piss yellow pour, lite foamy head. Hazy. Nose is honey-lager, reminds of sour on nose and looks. Very honey-sweet, honeysuckle, jasmine. greentea. much like lager, surprising. Light bodied but finishes with ok bittering. fruity, spritely. very odd, wouldn’t have thought ipa. my west coast roots are spoiling me.

cask on tap at Birch and barley. Another great head and lacing with a big hops nose, with hints of soap and spruce. Plenty of aromatic hops taste and a nice finish. Not an American IPA for sure but OK

Tasted from bottle purchased at Lush Roscoe Village. Pours pale golden with an average white head that leaves solid lace. The nose is citrus and herbal hops with a hint of malt sweetness and a very distinctive yeasty aroma as well. The flavor is fairly light and bitter with solid earthiness and a yeast flavor as well. The body is light with average carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Yes, English understated and smooth drinking craftmanship, yet delivers an IBU bitterness that wakes up the taste buds. Enjoyble drinkability, though more of a sipper to save the buds from being shredded. from Premiere Gourmet.
