Cask: Regular. Also available bottled.
A citrus dominated India Pale Ale, its immediate impression is soft and smooth yet builds to a crescendo of massive hoppiness accentuated by honey. An enduring, bitter finish.

From a bottle poured into a pint glass. A - lemon peel and citrus with a musty cat piss as it warms up. A - Clear yellow/gold with a hint of copper. Nice thick white head that lingers around. T - Starts minerally and grassy at the front, ending with bitter pink grapefruit. Out of the bottle, it is slightly alliaceous, I don’t remember that taste out of a cask though. P - Dry and bitter the whole way through. Medium body. I would rate this a little lower, but put in a lineup of other New World hopped English Ales, I always seem to choose it for some reason. I can never drink more than one though.

(50 cl.

Cask flight at Ginger Man in NYC. Light golden pour with a light white head that laces nicely. Very faint Earthy hop fragrance. Taste is Earthy hops, sweet roasted pale malt and biscuit. Thin but slippery in the mouth if that makes any sense. It’s velvety smooth. Piney hops linger in the palate. Nice but not great.

Cloudy amber with one finger of offwhite head. Nose is oxidized and aged, not sure how fresh this is. Herbal and piney hops on the nose with a bready character. Lightly bitter with lots of herbal and leafy hops. Hope to try this again.

50cl bottle. Pours a clear yellow straw color with a huge soapy white head. Long lasting foam. Aroma is hoppy with tropical fruits and some grass. Very nice. Taste is a bit disappointing though: the bitterness is very mild and not anywhere near where I’d like it to be in an IPA. Flavours are quite balanced between malty sweetnes and hoppy bitterness. Grassy and floral. Thin in body and lively carbonation. Overall, it’s a 50/50 beer to me. Everything is great except for the flavour, which really laks in hops profile, bitternees, and fruity notes.
