4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy and orange/amber in color - a little darker than a hefeweizen. Not overly hoppy or bitter, at least not compared to the IPA’s here in the states. Maybe this is massive hoppiness for a British beer ;-)
The taste is great, though. A combination of hop bitterness, citrus notes (with a hint of sourness), and a light, bready flavor. Between this beer and Kipling, Thornbridge has quickly become my favorite British brewery.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very pale with foamy head. Balanced malts and bitter hops. Palate is fantastic nutty malts and fresh resiny hops all in balance. Not mind blowing ipa but a really drinkable one and a throwback to when ipas were accessible and not psychotic. Nice.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
(M.A. 27-10-16) (1863-300616)

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Waitrose. Pours clear pale golden colour, much like a Pilsner with foamy bubbly white head which soon settles. Aroma is grassy, grapefruit, citrus zest and a bit of mango. Taste is initially mild smooth sweet then noticably clean bitter which is quite long lasting. Quite bubbly and slightly slick, Overall a nice IPA

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: JUN 18, 2016 Served in shaker @ 5-6 deg celsius from 500 ml bottle BBE 07.04.17
Pours pale with a moderate head of foam, which dissipates rather rapidly. The aroma is earthy and besides makes me think of pine resin, hay, grass and bitter hops. The taste is bitter, somewhat citrusy and metallic, without any appreciable sweetness and hardly any balance. The bitterness, which appears to be the dominant taste characteristic, lingers on uncomfortably for a whole while as an aftertaste. Depending on Thornbridge's idea of shelf life, the beer might not be fresh and might have lost some character on that account, but I am nevertheless not at all impressed.
