Typical of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine, this wonderful South Pacific Ale has a great grassy nose with kiwi fruits in abundance. The wonderful fruity mouth gives way to a great bitter finish. 5.2%

An American Pale Ale brewed in England. Why not? We brew plenty of English style ales on this side of the Big Pond. Pours clear golden yellow with a thick, frothy, and rather persistent ivory head that sticks around for a while. Aroma has a definite malty note, with more than a hint of woody and bitter hops. Flavor features malty and white wine tones riding a base of woody hops that flash just a little bitterness. Sweetness is fruity and minimal. This is a distinctive beer. Mouthfeel features average fizz and body. Try tippling with Kipling.

UPDATED: OCT 27, 2015 Bottle from Beers’n’more. But I’m not sure there’s in it what’s advertised. Very thin throughout, with an aroma and a taste that I only know from slightly hoppy industrial lager. I can only hope something went wrong with this bottle. (3/2/5/2/9)

Re-rated. Still an odd beer, but definitely better than my first. Very bitter, but rather half-baked in any other respect.

I eat a kiwi a day and so far their scent alludes me. So a deScription of them in abundance puzzles me. Admittedly it’s a fruity scent headed vaguely towards citrus. A golden pale ale with thin top. The mouthful is certainly fruity rather than malty as one would expect. But it is not astringent as some hoppy ales are. Phrased differently it not crisp or sharp. The edge is on the back of the palate. Overall, good but.

Draft at Kompaan. Pours slight hazy dull golden blond with a white head. Aroma of citrus, light tropical fruits, grassy hops, biscuity malt and a light cardboard note. Flavour is above light sweet and moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.

50cl bottle @ home from Bert’s Bierhuis Biltstraat, Utrecht. Body is opalescent yellow, head is medium, white, average lasting, excellent lacing. Nose is fruity, malty, flavor is grapefruit, orange peel, light malt, light spices, bit watery. Medium sweet, medium bitter. Finish is medium lasting hoppy medium bitter. Medium body, dry texture, average carbonation. Easy, refreshing, simple summer beer, aroma is a bit weak.
