2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pale yellow pour with descent head. Slightly sweet and a touch hoppy nose. Not nearly as stong as most pale ales. Nice light easy start that flows well followed b the pale ale attack (see previous rates). Very low carbonation. Wtf the bubbles arenít moving. Seriously they dont float upward. Rather like this though still not a fan of that bite at the end.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
16.9 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a clear straw color - I can immediately tell this doesnít have much malt to it. The head is a frothy two finger white shade. The retention is solid and some decent (if inconsistent) lacing is left behind. Pretty good looking.
S: This does a good job of showing off Nelson hops, and itís not even uber fresh! Notes of pine, lemon, grape skin, and some tropical fruits come through quite well. Not much of a malt backbone comes through in the nose. Some slight soapiness detracts, but otherwise this is a solid hoppy aroma.
T: Hop flavor hits the palate immediately. Tropical fruit, some grapefruit, and slight herbal qualities are the main notes provided here. The finish isnít soapy at all, with only a mild, non-intrusive sweetness; actually, itís even a little juicy. The problem here isnít the flavor...itís the lack of flavor. While it is VERY pleasant and VERY balanced (Iím impressed how they hid the bitterness with such a feeble malt backbone), itís sadly too unassuming for its own good. Actually, you know what, I donít care...this just gets better and better the more I drink it. Itís delicate and subtle in all the right places.
M: This is so light and crisp its unbelievable. Iím just killing this like itís nothing. The soft yet impressive carbonation is definitely helping it here - and thereís just enough of a dry finish to help it even further.
O: If the flavor was íbiggerí so to speak, it would kill many íMurican-brewed pale ales stone dead. Still, this is more-or-less everything I want from the style. What a shame itís so expensive...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very refreshing beer that is clean and well constructed. Not the biggest hoppiest beer you will see, but the tropical fruit flavours are evident.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Really liked the taste and aroma, very nice.
If taste was just a little bit bigger and a little less bitter, would be heavenly.
I gotta dig in that Nelson Sauvin stuff.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Aroma - the malts are of a caramel nature, the hops of a floral and grassy nature, there is a unique yeast quality, like that of Unibroue.
Appearance - color is a yellow-orange, the liquid is hazy, the head is about 1/2" and white, it fades out into a ring, there is lacing going on as well.
Taste - is an interesting mix of some sweet and some bitterness. This beer has a very pleasing taste - it is dry like that of a Sauvignon Blanc, and has some sweet white flesh fruits present, and some tropical fruit as well, perhaps melon or kiwi. There is also a peppery property as well.
Palate - the body is on the light side; texture is thin, the carbonation on the palate was somewhat lively. The finish is slightly bitter, but extremely dry.
