Cask Conditioned handpump Coach & Horses Dronfield. A near black coloured beer with a tight off-white head. A smooth, malty chocolatey beer with spicy notes. A true Winter beer with cinnamon to the fore, especially in the nose. Tasty and skilfully brewed.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask conditioned at The Anchor, Birmingham. Very Dark brown with tan head. Deep roasted, chocolate malt notes, rich, palate coating and then with a sharp hop, bittersweet, this is almost in Black IPA territory I would say. Very drinkable and freshly on, it was released as I was stood at the bar. Yummy.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at bow. Smells of mild coffee, liquorice, spices. Pours a deep brown, good creamy dark head. Tastes of coffee and liquorice but with not quite enough sweetness to balance it out. Not to my taste really, but by no means terrible.

Cask, Sheffield Tap. One of Thornbridge’s rarer, dark beers. A deep brown colour with a frothy ceam head. A spicy winter warmer is enticing and creates high anticipation. The tase follows through with a little hop helping to balance out the deep malt and spice. It is only a little let down by the thick, chewy texture but it didn’t get in the way of this being a surprisingly suppable winter warmer.
