This didn’t impress. Too harsh, too young. Could have been a good session ale.

On cask @ Fountainheads. Poured a dark murky brown no frothy head. Aroma of sugars, cloves, nutmeg, malt, chocolate. Taste is similar, a bit overdone in the spices. The least fav of the night.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 MesandSim (7118) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 3, 2010
A Sim rate (cask at the Euston Tap): Sweet, tangy and hoppy aroma. Plenty of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and winter berries. Great looking beer with an inviting caramel colour and a head that just doesn’t give up. Flavour is full-on malt and a bitterness that lasts with its nutmeg and cinnamon spice. Really great beer. I could drink loads of this....if only we had an open fire rather than a space heater!
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Leighton (6910) - London, ENGLAND - DEC 1, 2010
Cask at the Euston Tap. Dark garnet pour with a sturdy, white cream head. Malty aroma, with some cinnamon and other wintery spices, sugarplums, and hazelnut. Lovely, spicy flavor with perhaps nuitmeg and cinnamon, along with gingerbread, and faintly bitter lemon. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dries out a good bit in the finish, with lingering spices, some ginger tang, and sweet bread, along with modest bitterness. Better than decent.
