Cask at Euston Tap. Deep black pour. Really chewy malt aroma with a soft sweet chocolate flavour. A bit of toast and soft sweetness. Lingering cocoa. Nice stuff.

Cask at stags head, sheffield. Black with a creamy head. Aroma is mostly coffee but with some cocoa. Taste is sweet and mild, not much bitterness or bite. Medium body with a slight prickle on the tongue.

On cask at craft beer co. Dark pour with no head, very thin body with very strong coffee aroma and milky sweetness. Very good beer even though I would have liked a bit more body!

Cask @ Dada, Sheffield [190314] [From memory as notes lost] Black, tan head. Roasted coffee in this with a dark fairly sweet malt base, had a medium body, got the milk sugars giving it some richness. Good fairly bitter roast coffee. Remember this as pretty decent, liked it, but expected it to be better (as its a Thornbridge)...one i’d like to re-try

Tap at The Rake. Pours rich brown, almost black in dim light. Thin head. Aroma is roasted coffee beans, with a hint of vanilla sweetness behind. Taste is bitter, matching the aroma, with a nice backing of rye bread malts. Dry. Enjoyed best sipped.

JDW Waterhouse, Manchester 24 Jan 13. Kjempedyprød / svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum som holder seg. Teppelacing. God aroma av vanilje & røstet malt. Antydning til kaffe. Myk munnfølelse. God smak av kaffe & sjokolade. Blir litt uforanderlig.

Cask at the Magpie, very dark red with a coarse white ring, nose is roast coffee with a little dark dried fruit, sweet on the tongue with more coffee notes plus hints of milk chocolate. Finish is sweet too, though with a faint winey tartness in the background.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlicoville, 21/11/13. Dark mahogony brown with a fairly anti social tan covering that thins. Nose is coffee forward, light roast, walnut, cocoa, toffee fudge, sweet but balanced. Taste comprises coffee and walnut cake, wich toffee fudge, light roast, chocolate. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, coffee and light roast notes in the finale. Fairly decadent flavours for the ABV - would happily guzzle on this one time and over !
