Cask, half-pint at JDWs Waterhouse. Creamy, tan-coloured head. Deep, dark ruby body colour. Firm lacework. Coffee and chocolate to the nose. Taste of coffee grounds and milk chocolate. Smooth semi-sweet end. Soft in the mouth. Fine drink after the breakfast, maybe a little unvaried (Manchester, 24.01.2013).

Great aroma, looks like a delicious milky coffee in a pint glass. Too bitter, too rich - not overly palatable. Expected more subtlety. Great brewery though. Maybe a stout too far for me.

Cask at Angleterre, Helsinki. Pours black in colour, reddish and frothy tan head. Roasted coffee mostly in aroma, quite strong coffee. Roasted coffee, some bitter chocolate in flavor. A bit of chocolate sweetness in taste, but more of that bitterness and coffee in aftertaste. Quite nice.ä

UPDATED: MAR 22, 2013 Cask @ Kitty’s Public House, Helsinki 07/12/12. Pours a very dark brown, almost black with auburn tinges. Large-bubbled, latte-colored head. Aroma is coffee, roasted, some fruitiness, fresh plum. Taste is quite sweet with lactose. Lots of coffee in the flavor, like a café latte or a cappuccino. Or chocolate-coated espresso beans. Light flowery hoppiness in the background throughout the whole thing. Finishes dry with espresso flavors. Palate is oily and chewy, creamy and thick. Really coats the mouth, really full. Very powerful in comparison to the low ABV.

Great coffeemilk aroma and Taste. No head black beer. The beer is ruined by the body. Feels Like its mixed with water.

Cask @ Pikkulintu, Helsinki

Pours dark brown, almost black with a bubbly head. Aroma of black coffee, espresso and roasted malts. Taste is roasty with a lot of coffee notes, hints of fruits and chocolate. Finish is smooth and slightly roasty with espresso coffee notes. Nice stout for coffee lovers.

Cask at PSBH, 22nd November 2012, pours a nice looking drink, aroma is sweet and loads of coffee. Taste is too much coffee and cream, not well balanced, like a glass of cold coffee almost

mjs (3609) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 22, 2012
(Cask at Pikkulintu, 20121122) The beer poured black. Its head was small and light brown. Aroma had coffee, cream, roasted malts and chocolate. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were coffee, roasted malts, burnt malts, sweetness, hops and bitterness. Aftertaste had roated malts, coffee and bitterness. A bit unbalanced but still tasty brew. Less coffee and burntness would have resulted in a better beer.
