(Bottle) Pours dark brown to black with a small light brown head. The aroma holds aggressive notes of whisky up front – smoke, wet stone, tar and peat. Undertones of chocolate roast and earth. The flavour is light sweet, light bitter and tiny acidic. Smoke, tar, chocolate, earth, stone and meat. The mouthfeel is soft, almost velvety and bit watery with almost no carbonation. Lingering whisky aftertaste with hints of roast. Near medium bodied.

Very sweet flavor, great earthy character, more peat, mild roast and cocoa. Full bodied with soft carbonation. Outrageously good finish, mlid warmth, very little burn. Peat galore, mild cocoa, dark sugars. This stuff is just incredible. Beautiful barrel integration. Great balance. Miraculous character.

Bottle (RBESG2011, Grand Tasting)
Black, small tan ring head. Clear islay aroma, roastiness too. Islay all over the taste too. Smooth palate, but a nice tingle from burntness, hops and even a little alcohol. Good, but lacking the wow that would make me wax lyrical and throw around stunning scores.
