Bottle 375ml.
Clear dark black to brown color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, caramel, coffee, tawny, wood, moderate alcohol - whisky. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20091023]

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, whiskey, and wood. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted malt, soy sauce, whiskey, wood, and alcohol, leading to a dry, roasted, and alcoholic finish. Huge thanks to fonefan for sharing.

37.5 cL bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is dark malty, roasted and mild smoked. Smooth liqourice and dark malty, light smoked. Roasted and slight smoked flavoured into a light finish. Dry and roasted far finish.

Solid body, a little low in carbonation, subtle and refined whisky accents and lots of hard roasted malts and vanilla. Discreet malt bitter finish with warming alcohol. 231009

Bottled (from realale.com). Very deep ambery brown colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is toffee, slight roast, coffee, some wood and liquorice. Also dark fruity notes and mild alcohol as well. Flavour is roasted malts, alcohol, coffee and some coffeeish notes. A quite pleasantly balanced brew. Dark dry fruits and some alcohol in aftertaste.

Bottle at Papsø’s hotel room, thanks to fonefan for sharing. Dark brown coloured with a medium sized beige head. Sweet and roasted aroma of dark chocolate, dried fruits and whisky. Sweet and roasted flavour of dark chocolate, dried fruits and whisky with notes of liquorice. Dry roasted finish.

Bottle, 8.8%. Good creamy aroma. Black colour. Small brown head. The flavour is nicely vinous with a little vanilla and cream. Does not taste as much of whiskey as their Highland Whiskey Reserve.

Bottle at Pre-ZBF 2010. Black - offwhite head. Whiskey, burned, roasted, smokey, dried fruits, light chocolate, light bitterness, light alcoholic, smooth, very pleasant and high drinkability.

Bottle at The Rake, HogTownHarry visit May 2009. It is very very very smooth in the mouth. Rather good, but very hard to tell the difference to the Islay if I’m being honest.
