3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled at RBESG ’07. Almost black. Whiskyish licorice aroma. Sweet and packed with malt. Tarry and salty, full bodied with some light whisky flabour. A bit sweet with salty asphalt finish. Well made.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 25, 2007 A Mes rate: Bottle at RBESG.
Thornbridge Hall just get better. This is an absolute stunner. Black with an excellent tan head. Assertive dark malty aroma with light spice and peaty notes from the barrel. Roasty chocolate flavour with lovely smoky liquorice, maple syrup and just a lick of malty whiskey. Thick and sweet but not at all cloying. Would love to try a cask of this. Superb stuff again from one of my favourite English brewers.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled thanks to Martin the brewdog brewer, rbesg07. The bottle was 2 years old. Aroma is roasted barley, quite a bit of alcohol, some hints at whisky and something trying to be tart fruit. Taste is similar fruiut coming off the yeast but roasted malts dominating.
